havent been following these toys at all but after seeing the movie i feel the need to buy some. im confused about all the different versions though: leader, voyager, HA, deluxe. i know leader is the best and most expensive but are any of the other toys in scale with this class? im definitely picking up optimus and a couple other autobots and wanted to know the best version for each one.

How are they racist?
They didn't say anything racist in there.
I was watching other criticisms of these guys and people are using the term racist wrong. Mudflap and skids can't be racist for speaking the way they do....if someone thinks there is racism in these characters (which is freaking ridiculous, they are comic relief based on our own pop culture) then the racists would be the writers and director....which, again, is BS!

Lol, i don't think the above video is the original commercial. Someone switched the audio for their voices and added others.

This is the Original Commercial:

yeah and even then it wouldn't be racism per se it would be "stereotyping".

That's the thing. People simply apply the term "racist" to anything remotely sensitive that deals with race. That label has gotten very far away from its definition.

I don't think Skids & Mudflap are "racist"... but they can most certainly be argued as racial stereotypes.

Yea i posted that vid as a joke..i was well aware the audio was messed with and had bits from the Leprechaun news thingy in the southern states haha..i do not personally think the characters were made intentionally to be racist at all, acting dumb and singing one lyric over and over sells right?..look at Soulja Boy lol.

My point is...if people have no problem with making stupid music about skeeting on a womans face or what have you..and let songs like that slide..then no reason to ^^^^^ about these characters at all, as the kids these days mostly listen to dirty hip hop music anyway..which i see as a bigger deal then some movie characters.

yeah if anything its just a kind of tasteless appeal to youth culture from an old white man.
hey wait a minute...aren't a lot of old white men responsible for all the crappy rap out nowadays?

anyways, just got back from the movie, its 2:45 am here in south korea. good fun, minus the ridiculous college crap, I liked it as much as the first one even though it was really huge in scope and a bit scattered. Best toy commercial I've seen this summer.

My favorite thing was seeing more megatron and starscream interaction as well as actually being able to hear the inflections in weavings voice. we were able to hear the personality he leant megatron that i felt was inaudible in the first due to vocal manipulations. The fallen was pretty cool I guess but I wasn't too much of a fan of his design. I wanted more Megatron in tank mode but he still flew around like his cybertronian get or whatever from the first, which was a bit silly. I liked seeing him after being defeated yelling for starscream.

Also, steve buscemi was top notch!

Hey guys I have a question, in the Transformer movies everytime the All Spark gets "activated" like dropped or the power is transfered to something why does is the robot always bad. Like in Transformers when Sam drops the All Spark a Xbox, Mountain Dew Machine, and a Car turn into bad transformers and attack people. It also happens when they are in Sector 7 place and everyone is shown what the cube does to the Nokia phone. Then in Transformers two it happens when Sam drops the All Spark shard. Does anyone know why they are always bad? Sorry if this has been answered, this thread is waaay to long to look for the answer.

Well, we have seen in ROTF that cube made Decepticons can be "Rehabilitated". Maybe that's what happened on Cybertron, they made them then taught them to be Autobots.

One thing I really missed in ROTF that was in TF1 was the cartoon noise that was always made when they transformed. This one:

I didn't hear it once in the whole film just the sound of gears turning and clamping....:(
