I also had Red Alert only as a kid, but will pick up Sideswipe as well. I always loved those character designs. And the Lambo, come on. Coolest car of the mid-80s.

Sideswipe looks great, but we knew that already.
I don't have Red Alert preordered yet, though. I'll probably end up getting him as well but Sideswipe and Soundwave were the priority at the time (plus I got the Japanese Amazon exclusives, and Red didn't have one of those, apparently).
I'm also torn over the ArtFeather Bumblebee especially after seeing that the doors can be removed from the arms in robot mode without the use of a saw
I think an official MP Bumblebee is still unikely but I'm not impressed with what's been seen of iGear's PP04 so I may just hang on and see if something better comes along.

Pretty nice. I always keep my classics BB in bot mode though, so I probably won't go for that. I wonder if they'll also do Cliffjumper. . .
Here's the pic of Bumblebee without the doors,
I think it looks really nice aside from the silver colored bits on his knees and shoulders and the alt mode is obviously way better than a generic small car.
But given the G1 accuracy that iGear and Takara are now proving can be achieved I'm convinced that something better than a reshell of an aging Classics mold will come along in the near future.
Maybe the sales of the MP Lamborghinis will be good enough to convince VW to throw their "no war toys" policy totally out of the window in the name of cold, hard cash and the Beetle will be usable again officially or maybe iGear's PP04 will look OK once it's finished.

Then I wonder why was the Volkswagon originally allowed for use back in the '80s? I have had German friends, and the WWII issue is an odd one from my POV since there is nothing comparable for Americans to deal with (closest thing being attempts at eradicating Native American populations). Certainly nothing that breeds guilt and shame into our psyches from an early age.Hard to say, though... That's an attitude that's been ground right into the mindset of a lot of German society and culture since WWII. It goes beyond the sort of thing you might see here in North America, or (presumably) Britain. It's much more than being PC for them - I mean, WWII is an enormously embarassing chapter in history for most Germans, from what I've seen, and I've met a good number of German citizens, been to the country a couple of times, and even took several courses in the language.

Also, on the back of his shoulder is a decal of the camera, kinda looks like the one TFC Toys is getting ready to release, and it says 'say cheese'. Does that have any relevance in the TF universe? I grew up on Transformers, but just the toys and cartoons. I don't know a lot of the background stuff. I do like the decal on the tail fins of a seeker holding Soundwave in radio form on it's shoulder, all retro '80s style.
I only glanced at the instructions, but did see the thing about an alternate face and couldn't figure out what was going on considering my figure didn't seem to switch it out that way No idea about the camera. I would assume it is some reference to the cartoon.Ok, you guys know more about this stuff than I do. I just got the TRU ex MP Thundercracker. I had the old Wal Mart ex Starscream, so I remember it being a complex transformation, so I bust out the instruction manual, and Hasbro did the instructions up for the old MP-3 mold. I just had to laugh. There were a few things I had to figure out on my own, but nothing common sense didn't prevail over. Any reason why Hasbro did that, other than just flat-out drooping the ball?

In all, I really like some of the nit-picky stuff this new mold cleaned up that I didn't like about the old one. I actually ordered this one on-line, but saw some in the wild and picked an extra one up. Glad I did, I really like this one. I might try to pick up the MP-11 Starscream coronation one. The original animated movie is still one of my favorite movies to date, so with liking this new mold that is extra appeing to me now.
Thanks, guys
