Musings from a Sideshow "Star Wars" collector...
Sideshow has been producing Clone Trooper figures for a few years now and one of the highlights of those figures has finally been "completed".
The Clone Commanders featured in Episode III, "Revenge of the Sith" during the climatic "Order 66" sequence have been produced as Sixth Scale figures....
It's been a long time coming...and be it by design and planning or just the luck of the draw, it's great to have a significant group of characters realized so well as figures and Sideshow's team has really outdone themselves with this group.
With each successive release of an armored figure, Sideshow has stepped up the quality...from changing the style of body glove to fine-tuning the production of the base bodies so that they are tighter and have more easily changeable hands and feet to the ever improving deco and paint apps providing more detail than ever.
This particular group of Clones has been a "wish list" item of mine since I saw them onscreen executing that fateful order. Each one's distinctive look added a great layer of characterization and visual dynamics to the movie.
From the singular distinctive look of Commander Cody...
....the practical camouflage of Commander Gree...
...the burnished and Binoc'd Commander Bly...
....the broad-helmeted visage of Commander Bacara...
....and the intense, angular Commander Neyo...
...all of them are rendered with great detail and truly individual looks.
Sideshow has produced many Clone Trooper figures by now...and I've added many of them to my collection (and will probably be adding more). I've posted comments and pics in the various threads expressing my (mostly favorable) impressions of these armor-clad warriors, but until now, none have given me a sense of a completed group for display like these Clone Commanders.
I want to thank the team at Sideshow for creating one of the highlights of my Sixth-Scale collection...now on display and ready to...
"Execute Order 66!"
Well done, Sideshow...well done!
