Hey All,

I was wondering if anybody else was having this problem. On my Darth Vader Sith Apprentice figure, his right arm just keeps coming off. No matter how I position it, the whole arm piece just keeps coming off. Should I contact sideshow and get another one, or am I just an idiot and don't know how to click the arm on?

This was a problem with the first one. You could see if Sideshow has a tighter joint one, but most likely they all are a bit loose.

LOL!! :)

This problem has been around since Anakin arrived. It's one of the major criticisms. What's happening is the peg is too small for the hole and the inner tunic sleeve is so tight that it's putting added pressure on the arm.

Easiest solution:

Take a small piece of masking tape and wrap it 2-3 times around the peg. That should increase the width of the peg enough to give a secure fit.

Some of us (like myself) have also cut off the sleeve of the innermost tunic to alleviate some of the pressure, but that's an extreme alteration. The tape trick should do it. :)

I've been reading that they've fixed this problem. Obviously not.

Yeah, I'd heard that too. I thought it was too good to be true. 6000 peg fixes in such a short amount of time...that was hard to believe!!! It must be just a few diamonds in the rough out there.

Anyone have the Black Knight figure from Monty Python? He has 4 removable limbs and each one stay in perfectly, but can still be pulled out with some force and it works because the peg has a slightly mushroomed tip. Now, this figure was made by Sideshow a number of years ago and works, so why couldn't they do the same with Anakin? Just seems a bit silly.

My Jedi anakin did the same thing. I finally cut the under tunic sleeve off on that side as it just bunched up and pushed the arm down and off. It still happens now but mush less frequently. Hope that helps.

Refer to my post earlier in the thread, Jango. You did half of what I modified on my Anakin. Try using the masking tape around the peg. It'll probably work a whole lot better for you!! :)

I am lucky that my mother-in-law is a seamstress and I asked her to remove Anakin's sleeve without damaging it. I will ask her to do the same to Vaderkin, I guess. Nail coat seems to work well to build up the peg so it fits tight in the arm. to be honest I am glad they have these little quirks because I love to futz around with them! :monkey5

The search button is your friend. The arm thing has been WAY covered to death.

Okay, I'm going to bat defense here.

I'm sure, of the topics we discuss, about 40% have already been covered in some form, but I really don't feel like looking over my shoulder and doing a search everytime I want to post a question.

I want the immediate interaction of my friends and peers, not a search engine. Sometimes we have to answer a question more than once. It's the way it goes. And it's better to ask than to sit for an hour slogging through past postings in the vain hope of finding the answer. And it might'n't even be the right answer.
So there.

Still sucks that we have to deal with this problem yet again.

Oh, I totally agree. But this thread has merit all the same. I'm certain I'm not the only one who wondered whether or not this problem would port over from the original Anakin figure. Thanks to this thread, the question is answered. And I didn't have to do a search.

I'll be letting droplets of superglue dry on the pegs, as before.

I thought about that but wouldn't that make it hard to move in the joint?

Let the glue dry and harden into a nice little nub before putting it in the socket. You're going for a slight mushroom effect. That'll help it stay in, although, depending on usage, it may have to be redone every once in a while. I might try the masking tape thing this time....

Not to mention that in the interim, other members may have found new answers, methods, etc. to the issues being addressed. Sometimes we need to revisit things from scratch and get totally new perspectives on the situation.

And instead of considering cutting the tunic do a search for the arm problem and you'll find the rubberband sleeve solution which is more reasonable.

Yeah, but then Anakin won't look like he's wearing something out of the Kurgan's wardrobe!!! :lol :lol
