It won't matter whether or not Thor is as popular as Iron Man, the flippers will drive the price up. Also Iron Man was popular before the movie came out so yeah I can see this sculpt being driven up in price on the secondary markets. You have to remember that the people who mostly collect this stuff are fans long before the movie comes out and people who buy because of the movie are usually late comers and have to pay those high prices after everything is sold out.

Yeah I guess thats right on the flipper portion of it, I guess i was thinking maybe there's not as much fan base on Thor versus Iron Man... I've been a fan of comics for a while before Marvel started with all the movies so it's funny to here people in stores shopping with their kids saying, "whose Iron Man"

yeah I think Thor will do nicely. High at first then a bunch of flipper dumping on ebay will bring the price down a bit and then after those dry up it will go back up in price.
i can't wait for Thor to start shipping and to be honest i'm growing more and more excited about Iron Spidey.

My nephew had never seen Star Wars (1977) on the big screen until they re-released it before Phantom Menace (1999) came out. That's 22 years and an entire generation was born between the 2 releases who never knew certain characters. We take it for granted that people have our reference point but they don't. Like I said I think that most collectors of this stuff are those who grew up with it and now have the money to buy it. I've been reading Thor since the very early days (early 1970's for me) but was too poor to buy anything like this PF until now. Thor has a fairly good fan base and they will buy this piece. Right now I'm just happy that Sideshow decided to do a different character for a change and I would like to see more.

Actually the tradition with PFs and most exclusive pieces is that within the first round of general releases the prices drop at times below retail at first and then begin climbing before leveling out. Thor was heavily ordered and at first it'll probably dip a bit from these preorder prices and then steadily rise.
