And you guys thought we're collecting Freaks!!

My wife recently got into collecting Custom made Baby Dolls, the process of which is called 'Reborning'. I thought some of you peeps might appreciate that being that we have some awesome customizers here on this board. Some of these 'Reborn' dolls are so realistic it's creepy, the detail that goes into them is amazing. They can get pretty expensive, like Sideshow expensive or more!

Anyway the reason that I bring this up at all is that there is one on ebay right now that is really incredibly lifelike and insanely expensive. I won't reveal the price, I'll let you all take a look at it and faint!

I have to agree that the detail is amazing, but definitely creepy. I have to wonder what makes someone pay over 5K for a doll.

My aunt got into these a few years ago. She didn't have anything that life like but some were very good. She bought some that looked like her kids as babies. The ones with closed eyes always looked much more realistic than the open eyed ones.

1. I think this is just a front. I think they are actually selling real babies on ebay.

2. You could play one hell of a practical joke,also a very expensive practical joke.

3. If I put one of these in a car seat would a cop pull me over in the carpool lane? If he did pull me over would I get out of the ticket?

She puts up with my collecting obsession, so I support her in hers.

She does own a few that are very lifelike and the detail is awesome. Here's a funny story, we were on our way to my mother-in-laws one day and a lady came up to the car window to ask for some change, my wife was holding one of her dolls and the lady said, "Oh what a beautiful baby!", that was too funny. The people that work on these are very talented.
