The two before that were Iron Man 3 and Thor TDW, I think we should remain worried, a little at least.

Yeah Khev, that logic doesn't exactly hold sound considering the gaps we get between IM1 and Cap3. And although I love Avengers and am an unabashed Whedon fan, I don't thint it was the calibre of those either. As much as I love Marvel movies their formula seems hit or miss for excellence, a lot of them just land in 'good', which is fine, but I think under Wright, this had HUGE potential to land on the excellent end of the pool.

Variety reports that Marvel already has a new director, but they're not revealing the name just yet. The studio and Wright split up "due to differences in their vision of the film," Marvel and the director said in a statement.
Phew! Now I might be interested in this.

Glad MS came to their senses.

Yup, smart move Marvel drop that talentless hack with a perfect record as a director, maybe they can get someone far more talented like David Twohy. How does that sound Riddick? :lol

To be fair, I thought Scott Pilgrim sucked.:chase I did love The Cornetto Trilogy, though.

Same here, not many other directors could have made that movie work.

Mainly because anytime I see Michael Cera in anything outside of Arrested Development Seasons 1-3, I get the sudden urge to stick my head in a Microwave Oven.

I don't like him(cera) either, but I think that he was brilliant in this. The Culkin kid was awesome, the Super
Man from returns was great as the Vegan, Chris Evans, just so much great casting. I'd went in never having read the comic, but I ended up watching it 6 times in the theatre, I just couldn't stop watching it. Not a surprise tho, I've watched Shaun, Fuzz, etc... repeatedly at home. I just think Wright is brilliant and really wanted to see what he'd bring to the MCU table

I don't feel like watching a superhero blockbuster where each shot lasts less than a second.
It's amateurish and nauseating, movies are not music videos from late 90s early 2000s.

:)

It seems like Marvel Studios has a lot of issues with directors and/or actors (saw this list on another site, remember some names from below and their expressed issues/frustration)

Directors:
Jon Favreau
Alan Taylor
Kenneth Branagh
Joe Johnston
Patty Jenkins

Actors:
Edward Norton
Mickey Rourke
Hugo Weaving
Terrence Howard
Natalie Portman

Plus all the reports of the non-Downey Jr Avengers and their paychecks :lol

I would guess that Marvel has control over how they want these movies to turn out. Directors and actors often want to put their own spin on things and I bet Marvel is clamping down on that...rubs people the wrong way. I'm just guessing, though...

You've seen Cap 3? :panic:

And the MCU got Evangeline Lily? I was wondering why she cut all her hair off, I bet she IS the Wasp! :rock
I've seen Cap3 multiple times, which was my point, to me they have a great collection of titles, but hitting highest at IM1 and Cap3. 2 out of 8 or 9 doesn't guarantee greatness across the board. Although I don't agree with purple that IM3 was bad, it and Thor2 definitell seemed like 'stepdowns' in the franchise, so I'd still like to see great people involved in the production process.

They do seem to rub their staff the wrong way
