Re: any countries you will not ship to and why not ?

99% of the items in my collection were obtained from international transactions since in my country these are hard to find. I only had a couple problems when items were not well packed, but everything was fine in the end. I also sold or traded outside Romania and never had problems. In fact I made many friends all over the world.

Though coziness or even laziness is something that some sellers manifest when they say they don't want to deal overseas or deal in other countries. I always pay for shipping and I always choose Express Mail or at least Priority Mail with tracking number and insurance. I never send or receive package uninsured or without tracking number. And I don't scam people. If you make a living from selling on ebay then you might encounter troubles.

Something interesting to read:

Never had a problem with European, canadian, Hong- Kong, US parcels, however mostly of the parcels ordered from the US were stopped at customs, and had to pay taxes ..Maybe bad luck ¿¿??:dunno .. Anyways I do'nt shipping from the US for that reason :thud:

The postal system here, in Spain works pretty well, specially the certificate regular airmail and priority mail (in both cases the parcel takes about 3-5 days to arrive at home :horror)

I heard some bad rumors about Italy postal system, and most of the Ebay sellers only ships there by EMS.. or directly is excluded.

About French and Germany, for personal experience I would say that their postal service is pretty good too

With all due respect . . . I will not ship out internationally because it's a pain the in the @$$. I will not ship out to Canada either.

Based on my direct experiences . . .

The international/Canadian buyers I dealt with are cheap@$$ when it comes to shipping. They want the cheapest rate, but want maximum coverage & insurance free of change. That's pretty much it. Granted, I'm sure some of us are that way when it comes to domestic shipping within the US, but seriously . . .

I realize shipping can be high based on the method of delivery. I am not condemning all Canadian & International buyers, but I'd rather just avoid needless grief. As an international buyer, I always read the seller's shipping terms and ask questions before proceeding with the transaction to ensure expectations are clearly set.

Personally, I refuse to spend out of my pocket to ship an item to anyone. If someone is willing to pay a triple-digit price (or more) for something, then they should also be willing to pay the shipping charges.

I had a similar case last year, when I sold a textbook to a guy in Toronto, Ontario. He wanted to pay only $10 in shipping, and he expected, insurance, tracking, and signature confirmation (the works). I tried my best to pursuade him into paying for the extra services, but he just wouldn't listen. So... I shipped his textbook, with the slowest that USPS had to offer :lol.

I thought it was a given the buyer would pay the fees... no way in hell I'm going to pay it. Makes no sense for me to sell it to them at that point.
