Hi all :wave

I was wondering if there is a commonly used product to keep smaller scale statues and figures in place on display shelves?

I just got my 1st statue - a Dr Doom maquette - and even though he has a nice rectangular base he would definitely fall backward if the display were ever bumped / knocked into for w/e reason. :horror

Obviously, I don't plan on this ever happening (but who does :lol) but I'd like to prepare with counter measures if possible.

Any / all info & suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks all :nana:

Double-sided hard drive tape is some strong stuff, or just display it somewhere where its against a wall. Grats on the awesome piece by the way.

It definitely won't fall off if you use double sided tape...

You're never gonna be able to get it off the shelf again either. Well, at least without risk of damaging the base.

I've found that the earths gravitational pull is sufficient when trying to keep statues on a shelf. :dunno

They sell these things called glue dots. They are like round blobs of heavy duty rubber cement but they stay in their factory formed shape.

Thank you for the replies everyone ;)

I picked up Scotch double sided tape heavy duty but I'm afraid to use it. Like someone said, once you put that down the piece is basically stuck there and I'm not ready to make permanent decisions on a brand new hobby / collection :lol

I'll be using Detolfs to display, so something that is removable would be preferred since I know I'll be re-arranging things all the time...damn my OCD :rotfl

Only use that(double sided tape) for stabilizing the base that you have your piece on. Don't use it directly on the piece, that would be no bueno.

I just ordered this stuff to try it out. I will post my findings. The reviews were very good and it's not expensive. Just hope it does not hurt the paint over time.

Sounds too good to be true :lol

If it's legit that would be fantastic :hi5:

Working with this stuff now. Sorry I'm late, trying it out on some small end Stuff ATM. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ok so tested this on my Evil Ryu Resaurus figure and he holds very well on glass. My Only complaint is if this is used in a warm place it almost melts so use in a cool area. It's not super hot in my office but just seems like it's really sensitive to temp change. But it holds very very well. 9/10 for me. Very good price and does what it's supposed to do without damaging the product in any way.

Definitely wouldn't use doublesided tape, especially on glass shelves. Part of the fun is rearranging things every once in a while.
I use blue tac - probably not earthquake-proof, but keeps the wobblier pieces from shifting too much.

I remember that blue tac from way back when, that's another good suggestion to go along with the wax. Thanks everyone :goodpost::clap
