Some of you know that I have had a rough time lately. So in order to rebalance myself I am jumping from 10,000 feet on the 25th this month. I plan on making this my new hobby. So I ask have any of you had this experience yet? I can't wait! :rock

Wait, isn't skydiving expensive?

It is about $210 for the first jump. I shouldn't really pay for it but F it. I am doing it anyways. :duff

I also decided I am no longer living my life for other people. I am going to do what the hell I want when I want to do it. :rock

You will have a great time. I went skydiving when I was in college and had an awesome time. I made a decision to try since I figured I would never to be afraid to try anything after that... I don't know if it worked completely but it was a great experience. I went a second time but didn't really continue.

I did it 'tethered' which means I a cord was tied to the plane and pulled my shoot for me. I didn't do tandem which is the way most places do it now.

The moment you step out of the plane really is one of the scariest things I've ever done but once the shoot opens it is so quiet and beautiful. It's really awe inspiring.

You're gonna love it!!

Yeah I could have became "airborne" in the Marines. But the static line is not my thing. I want to jump. I can't F'N wait.

My brother took all the lessons, and then jumped. When he came down he screwed up his knee and won't do it again.

I decided long ago that I'm not doing anything out of the way that might kill me. Driving a car is bad enough, and I only fly once in a blue moon. I'm just not pressing it. :lol

I had a friend who did this...his buddies woke him up early one morning..and dragged him out to skydive...it was shortly after his divorce...he broke his leg...LOL!

^^^^in a..............go for it bro !!!!!! i've always wanted to but too many things ran thru my mind that stopped me. ive watched countless videos of people that do this and it really does look like the ultimate adrenalin rush. get that ^^^^ videotaped too and post it on here..... :rock:rock:rock.

I've done some muff diving in my time does that count?!

Word of advice when you jump...
Dont forget to wear your parachute
Good luck and break a leg!:monkey3

my brother jumps all the time.

if i remember correctly you have to do 10 tandem jumps before youre certified to jump by yourself, and even then you still have to do several assisted jumps where they still go out with you but theyre not strapped to you. So Im pretty sure your first 10 jumps will cost that price (unless that cost includes the 1 time cost for the classroom training)

Once you have youre own rigging and only need the plane ride up, it should drop to around $35/jump...

have fun. I want to do it someday myself ....

The place where I am going will allow you to jump by yourself for even your first jump. However, it is with a chute that opens automatically and it is a low altitude jump.

thats awesome then.
I think Id want to do the first 1 or 2 tandem and then by myself then.
I always say if that guys strapped to you, he's not gonna let himself die with you ... :lol

My grandfather used to do it all the time back in the day. He had a few friends die doing it and he himself ended up having his hip smashed and replaced after he caught a bad down draft and it slamed him into the ground. He was never able to jump again after that.

Good point! It is still dangerous but I've done my homework and they have pretty much made it as safe as they can. However, with anything in life there are risks.

yeah I could tell a lot of horror stories myself from trips my bro has taken.
Although he's never had any problems himself.

My dad however did shatter his wrist putting his hand down when ladning during a tandem jump, but it was so severe due to him going thru chemo at the time and his bones were very brittle ....
