What irritates me is when sellers send you a payment reminder the day after the auction ends...I got one less than 12 hours afterwards the other day

Some auctions want immediate payment or within 3 days. Could be they have it set up to send it right away.

I quit selling when the month ended and Ebay charged me for an extra 9% of what I made for the month on top of the 2 or 3% they usually take from auctions.

No-I think the protection is pretty good on eBay and as long as you go with reputable sellers it can be quite useful.

My ebay rules.
Communicate with seller is a must.
Seller must have minimum 500 sales.
Seller must have minimum 100% positive feed back within first 500-1000 sales.
Seller must have no less the 99.98% positive feed back when having over 1000 sales period.
Always read carefully.

Following these rules never had a single bad experience with them and living in Ireland it's really really hard to pick stuff up without eBay Amazon.co.uk and a few other sellers are good-but for non brand new items eBay is the only option really.

Minimum 100% positive feedback?

Just scored $135 for my SS stormtrooper, that's not bad considering.

Now I'll have to wait and see if the deal can be closed without any drama.

Doesn't it usually end up being more like 10-12% after everything is said and done? eBay+PayPal and all?

I still use eBay and any problems I've had as a buyer were resolved in a timely manner.

Even the one really hostile and immature buyer I had was resolved by eBay quickly. That buyer's account was closed by eBay shortly after. :)

Yes. And I think that is a lot. I'm hoping my auctions would get as much as possible and then these guys at the end of the month come and takes more from me. Maybe I'll neglect this when I'm old and dying and trying to get rid of my belongings.

When you're figuring out what to sell an item for, just add 10%.

but how many fees are there in total and what is the total percentage?

When i looked it up it came out as being 15% all in total including everything, is that accurate?

I haven't quit but I think about it a lot, at least from a selling point. Sellers get straight ****ed.
