Anyone ordering Bowen stuff through Sideshow? How quickly do they normally ship these? Similar to their own stuff?

I orderd my Hulkbuster from them. I got it pretty fast. Around the same time BDs people recieved theirs. Although. his head was busted off and it took 2 months to get the replacement.

No, it costs me the same through my LCS without the shipping and customs fees. Plus I have the advantage of looking it over before I pay, saved me some grief with the recent Silver Surfer.

I think Bowen is lucky that they got to Marvel first. For the prices I've seen on many of their items Sideshow puts them to shame in the craftsmanship department I'm afraid. Plus they are more liberal with their re-releases. Reselling the same statue and calling it "bronzed" is a bit lame but an excellent marketing ploy apparently since the rubes are snatching them up. If it weren't for Marvel protecting them Sideshow would have put them out of business by now. Of course Marvel loves them since they are giving less product for a higher price hence larger profit margin. I walked by Bowens for years and was never tempted to get one; but it was Sideshow that got my attention though, and my hard earned cash. But that's just me.

It's been a while since my last Bowen statue purchased but I am looking forward in getting the FS Ironman hulkbuster from Sideshow.

Randy Bowen's Thanos, Odin, clear Ice-Man, and Deathlok are beautiful pieces. Granted a lot of his statues are very static with their poses. And SideShow can produce larger statues with more elaborate bases for less. That always had me up in a tether whether or not I should go the Bowen and/or Hard Hero route.

I order my Bowen through Bowens site. Become a collectors club member for cheap $$$, and make back that money in your savings after ordering 1 statue.

Also, I don't understand how any fan of Marvel can not own/would discredit Bowen stuff. They make/have made some of the most accurate and well sculpted pieces out there. Nothing wrong with sharing your Sideshow Collection with some Bowen stuff. That's what I do anyway.

What do you like more about Bowen vs. SideShow?

not that i like bowen more than ss (since i just ordered my first bowen statues) but one thing that is nice, they take up alot less room.:rotfl:rotfl

other than that i'm going to use them as accents to my larger pf's etc.
so not really better then ss, but i hope they compliment each other, if that's possible.

for example i'm going to flank my sim with one bowen modern im and one stealth version. hard hero version

They release a lot more characters.

Plus, there are some awesome sculpts and paint apps lately. You will see characters with Bowen that Sideshow will never produce.

Plus, love the FB line from Bowen. The size is also very nice, as you can display more characters and easier than 1/4 pieces.

Randy listens to fans and takes their suggestions for statues too.

I just never felt that the Bowen quality justified the premium prices. With Sideshow I feel that what I'm getting exceeds the price that I am paying. Bowen has always had nice stuff but I could never get over the price to quality ratio. I always felt like the Bowens were glorified toys where as the Sideshow piece are works of art to me.
