They release a lot more characters.

Plus, there are some awesome sculpts and paint apps lately. You will see characters with Bowen that Sideshow will never produce.

Plus, love the FB line from Bowen. The size is also very nice, as you can display more characters and easier than 1/4 pieces.

Randy listens to fans and takes their suggestions for statues too.

i think that ss does listen to people, to an extent. i know with my pf lara croft, there was some diffences from the prototype to the released version, that people had commented on. one was a more pronounced bust line. so they must of listened or read people observations. now that may not happen all of the time, but that's just one sample i know of.

i also hope that they will be listening or reading on the prototype balrog vs gandolf dio. because it certainly needs some more work.

thank goodness.

Amen. and I didnt know that Bowen was the ONLY company out there selling the same statues under the "bronze" disguise. All these Sideshow faux bronze pieces must be my imagination. :lol

I order my Bowen through Bowens site. Become a collectors club member for cheap $$$, and make back that money in your savings after ordering 1 statue.

Also, I don't understand how any fan of Marvel can not own/would discredit Bowen stuff. They make/have made some of the most accurate and well sculpted pieces out there. Nothing wrong with sharing your Sideshow Collection with some Bowen stuff. That's what I do anyway.

It's not really listening to people when thousands have to complain to get something fixed. Randy on the other hand is very welcoming to the fans' ideas of how some statues are turning out.

yep, i see your point. bowen's alot closer to the consumer and can make changes quicker and easier if need be.

I agree that if you are a fan of Marvel (especiallu classic Marvel) you have to give Bowen his props. He makes some of the characters that no other company would. Not only that but he will make them true to the old school source material. That alone deserves respect.

Most of my money goes to Sideshow but I do pick up a Bowen here and there.

And which original Sideshow pieces would those be? Apparently they are not at the Sideshow Marvel site because I only saw Bowens there.

I am thinking of getting my first Bowen piece. Deathlok! Love the character design more than the comic itself, but will SideShow make one of him? I find it doubtful.

I just never felt that the Bowen quality justified the premium prices. With Sideshow I feel that what I'm getting exceeds the price that I am paying. Bowen has always had nice stuff but I could never get over the price to quality ratio. I always felt like the Bowens were glorified toys where as the Sideshow piece are works of art to me.

While i'll agree that Sideshow quality and visual appeal *usually* exceeds the price that we pay for stuff (even though those prices have been going up as of late), i've gotta disagree that Bowen has "premium" prices. I mean, take a look at their Zombie statue that is on the site. That thing looks amazing, and it carries a $100 price tag. Look at the sculpt of the body, the hands.

Even for higher pieces like Abomination, the prices can't be beat. Especially when you're a club member.

And glorified toys? No way! :D

It pleases me that all of you Bowen collectors are satisfied with your items, it's nice to have a hobby that you enjoyable. As I said previously they are not for me and the way I describe them is the way I view them and I don't forsee that view ever changing. Bowen just doesn't do it for me. :peace
