Looking to buy a value new hatchback for my wife. Leaning toward the Soul.

Anyone have 1? Thoughts?

They look ok for cheap cars. A teenie bopper car, but Kia's stuff has gotten better.

I would look at the new Focus or one of the Mazdas.

My wife has a new Focus. It's decent, gets good mpg and the Microsoft Sync system is pretty nice!

We've looked at the Mazda 3 and weren't overly impressed. Nor with the Fiesta, which was our choice until we test drove it. Haven't had a chance to look at the Focus 5 door yet as it just came out. We also liked the Kia Forte 5, but its a big like a station wagon. Prefer something a bit tighter. My wife doesn't like boxy, but the Soul is suitable. The interior space from front to trunk is huge in the Soul for such a small car. Curious if any owners have a more long term impression. The online sights give it a relatively favorable review considering price.

Prog, the dealer near me can't keep them on the lot. A LOT of people have them here. I really like the color Alien. I think it looks sharp. I've thought about it myself.

dont you have a hard time getting spare parts for kia, when it goes kaput. i've been told to avoid them...

:lecture My neighbor has one, and he loves it. It's his second car for driving to work and he swears it'll never break down. I doubt his word means anything to you, but it is what it is.

~~How about a VW Golf?? I'm thinking about buying one of those, or maybe one of the new Beetles that is coming out. Can't decide if I want a TDI, or just go with the 2.0T that is in them.
