The statue is standing on the ground, with the peg going into the dirt. I didn't use the base to stand her up.

Thanks Divo. I'm glad you enjoy my pictures. I plan on re-shooting some pics of the Velociraptor vs Protoceratops and Camarasaurus vs Allosaurus dios, so look for those in the coming months. Once this heat dies down enough, I'll be able to stay outside all day and take pics. lol

The statue is very well balanced, so it was easy to keep it steady.

The tail is fragile, but that's why you must be very careful when handling it.

The camera I use is a Canon Rebel XT 350D. Not one of the newer digital cameras, but it gets the job done.

The tail is the most fragile part, but it's difficult to actually quantify fragility. Of all the Apatosaurus maquettes I've shipped, only one actually had to be replaced because of a tail fracture, and this was a domestic delivery. Every internationally shipped piece arrived intact, so they must be pretty stable. The tail is also given extra foam padding in the box.

I'm also concerned about the tail. So far all the pieces I have received came in pretty good condition (minus the spinosaurus due to some deformed parts...I can't imagine how it passed quality control).

Hello, Dyscrasia! I do not understand how, passed rigorous inspection Spinosaurus from SideShow? Understood, if would be broken during transportation, but to send a dinosaur deformed and to think that it's ok, I find the lack of seriousness! We have to consider that these statues can afford not all, because they are quite expensive. In USA cost 289 dollars, and we Europeans pay 329Euro + transport (urzeitshop).

Can you show me, how your cabinets look for statues? Some ideas I would be very helpful

PS:I thought everything looks better, combining glass with pale, or only, glass lights?

This is my new dinosauria shelf with my collection at the moment. it´s made from steel and glass. I bought it at a home improvement store here in germany. Next time i will install a separate light for it.

yes, but for this shelf there is no glass front available, but it´s not important in my opinion, because you can clean it very easily and you could put the SS dinos under the shower for example.
Also this room is just for model displaying, so i have not much dust there.

As long as dust is prevented from being accumulated, I think it's a very efficient way to display the dinosaurs with less concern in space issues.
