I don't know. Carnotaurus seems to be selling in the $400 range in all other auctions, but that seller's went for over $800. It seems a little strange to me, but you could be right.

Don't look at the active auctions, look at the completed listings. Customsbylisa did find a couple of suckers to buy her Dinosauria pieces at a Buy it Now price of 824.95, but most go unsold. The going price for bidding auctions is still around 300-400 depending on the piece, but it looks like the stand-alone Rex goes for a bit more.

I don't know if using the term "suckers" seems a bit harsh, but I just use the term when discussing someone who willingly pays artificially inflated prices when they can get it for less by really looking or (god forbid) waiting... I'm a sucker myself sometimes... :-/

And I I want a T-Rex:(! Surely I can not find anywhere in Europe a T-rex from Sideshow, and frankly to give 600 euro on a t-rex ,on Ebay, ... not worth it:slap! So far, Sideshow has shown us just what maquette will appear in 2012. Who knows, maybe will see a new Diorama Dinosauria in 2012 !:wink1::pray:

T-rex on Ebay now, starting at $499.00. Good luck!:wave

Hi, I am a new comer of Dinosauria series. The tail problem makes me reluctant to get the SS Apato. I remembered similar thing happened to my SS Camarasaurus VS Allosaurus Dio. There is a row of small spines on the back of each Allo. When I opened the box, I found 3 spines cracked and detached from their bodies. Anyone here has the same experience??

Hello Matthewsin! I had no problem with Allosaurus vs. Camarosaurus, but I can say that there were small defects in painting.:slap
PS: What statues do you have in the Sideshow Dinosauria collection ?:)

Cama vs Allo Dio, Proto vs Velo Dio, Rex vs Tri Dio, Tupuxuara and Spinosaurus. I just get all of these in one month. Seems I need some control.....

Hey Matthewsin,

Join the club... I've just acquired the Proto VS Velo Dio, Spinosaurus, Styracosaurus, and my Apatosaurus is coming next week, all within the last month or so. Every single one of these pieces are so beautiful and scientifically accurate (relatively speaking, but nevertheless a big plus for me), I don't know if I'll ever be truly happy or satisfied until I own every piece... :-/

On the depressing side, the Tupuxuara just went Buy-it-now on E-bay for $600... WTF?!? :horror :cuckoo:

I have yet to glue the brocken spines on the Allosaurus' back. I bought this piece in the second market. But it has never been opened when I bought it. Do you have any idea if Sideshow can fix it for me? Or they won't do so......

SS often releases an EX version in parallel, which also includes a skull. Do U know why there is no Tupuxuara EX??

Hello matthewsin. . I recommend, do not forget to buy Apatosaurus:):lol:exactly:
PS: Shiro45 You will not regret that you ordered Apatosaurus !:clap:hi5: I think it's one of the finest statues from Sideshow:exactly:. Tupuxuara costs only $ 600:lol:panic:? Mockery!:(If the statue came to cost 600 ,then I buy 4.5 units, with 109 euros each, and make a business a few months later:)

The Tupu is nicely coloured and has a stunning posture. But $600 is a crazy price. I'd rather buy a Spino plus an Apato instead of one Tupu.

I am still thinking if I should buy the Apato or preorder the Stego next time, though I think I will get both of them finally.

That's what I had to do. As much as I want all of the sold-out pieces, I'd rather ensure that I get the in-stock ones at retail first, rather than pay the obscenely inflated prices later... Honestly, I couldn't do anything else with the flex-pay option making them so much more affordable for my situation...

BTW, Blade, thanks for the link to that multi-part Apato review. I know that these pieces are generally considered to be as scientifically accurate as you can get, but it's always nice to hear from real professionals that it's literally true.

Your strategy is right, Shiro. That's the way I am doing. But it's unfortunate that it's getting more difficult to get discontinued items from the market, especially if you need items of MINT condition. For example, I wont pay $800 for a Carnotaurus on eBay......
