Gimli the dwarf was played by a man who is also 6'2.

There is movie magic. I don't think his physical stature will effect the film at all as he will most likely be doing a face-cap performance anyways.

X-Men movies are just a mess all around. Even worse than this is Magneto looking like he's 90 years old. So even going back to the first X-Men movie they haven't had my approval ha. In my opinion.

That Apocalypsr is an embarassment. Waaaaay worse than what they did to Deadpool in Origins. However, the character and performance can still be good. You re just going to have to watch pretending it's Apocalypse's hillbilly uncle and not Apocalypse.
