I'll still keep my custom PC tower for gaming, which I seldom keep up with the latest trends anymore, anyway.

very true!!! im doing the same thing as you are. i kept my PC that i built a year and half ago and it should be good for another year. i bought a macbook in january and haven't looked back since. sorry, but OSX blows anything that MS has away. once you get past the learning curve its great. im just awaiting the new Leopard OS to come out.

Used both for 20 years. The PC does all I need, no need to change. Go with what you like and don't be a homer.

Just in my own experience, my pc would freeze alot and was getting bugs every now and then.

I'm not a computer genius by any means, but I own a Mac (for a couple years now) and have never had bugs or any type of problems i've had with my pc.

I just go with what works and Apple is very user friendly for me.

So is it a myth that Macs can't catch a virus?

Well......with me not yet (knocks on wood)

I use both and have leaned toward pc's more extensively due to bad experience with Apple's hardware. Motherboards and hard drives being the two major offenders.

I've used Macs for 8 years and not had one single problem. Both machines I owned, the iMac and PowerMac have worked with not a problem whatsoever. It's seemingless how my Macs have runned for me. And yes I barely get system freezes or crashes.

*hugs his Mac*

No going back to PC for this guy!

Wow...we've had laptop problems dating back to the Pismo's. Apple has always been great about getting them fixed and their OS is the bee's knees, but the downtime just isn't good. I have also had them come back missing parts, or not fixed hehe. I like both really, it's just the PC's have always been workhorses in my experience(reboots instead of shipping out). Go with what makes ya happy man! BTW I only have lots of laptop experience with them...desktops I got nuthin' for ya.

downtime??? never heard of it. i had a fried mainboard on my macbook 2 months after i bought it... took it to the closest apple store and they told me they were just gonna give me a new one. they just cloned the hard drive onto a brand spanking new macbook. it only took 45 minutes to get me a new one.

That would be cool...but everytime we've had a problem it has had to be sent off. I guess if your near an Apple store buy an Apple!

I wasn't a huge Mac fan until OS X came out, but it changed everything for me. I've made the switch and haven't looked back. Plus the new iMacs look very tempting... it may be time to upgrade!

Same story here. I thought Macs were garbage until OS X.

I haven't warmed to the look of the new iMacs yet, but I like the specs (minus the video card) and the price. I'll be hanging on to my G5 white iMac for a while yet.

I prefer PCs, but with that said, I have used both, hell my first computer was an Apple II Plus with a whole 64K of memory.
I agree with most that the newer Macs are very nice, but the problem was they were way behind PCs in the 90s and have never recovered.

i agree that apple fell way behind 10 years ago, but their sales have jumped 90% in the past year due to the new intel chips they are using. their OS is years ahead of windows so its only a matter of time before they catch up. now, if they could become upgrade friendly like PCs are they would crush MS. and now that they are coming out with safari for windows more and more people are gonna be seeing apple products on their PCs.

Are they really behind PCs anymore? They're using the same Intel chips now. Their graphics cards are what's usually behind the curve, but for iMacs and laptops, I guess that's fine. Gaming is what consoles are made for.

Dude, I love my Mac. I had to get a new notebook computer for grad school so I picked up the mid-range intel 15" macbook pro - best computer I've ever owned.

I mainly run architectural/rendering programs and have no issues with my computer being able to handle whatever I do. I'm not a gamer (anymore), so I can't really attest to that aspect, but there should be no serous issues since it's an intel processor now.

I use Parallels Windows emulator to run the few programs not available for a Mac that I need (AutoCad, Revit), but that's no big deal. You can also use bootcamp which allows Windows to run natively as the OS instead of being an emulator.

Anyway, the last notebooks I owned were Dells. This computer blows them away and once I priced a Dell laptop with the same specs as my Mac, the price difference was negligable - maybe $50 if that.

Not to mention the design of this computer just stands out above and beyond any PC I've ever owned.

Yeah, I dig my Macbook Pro. :D

Ok Mac guys, I was bored and downloaded Safari for XP. Do you get a security warning when you go to Ebay? I can get logged in but you get a security warning when you try to log in.
