Compare the box office of "10 years build up IW" to stand alone movie Aquaman is just ridiculous.

I'm not talking about financial takings....I'm talking about an enjoyable viewing experience. Very little between them.

I compeltely agree. Aquaman was more enjoyable as a stand alone movie though and the 2.5 hours went by much faster. Although aquamans jokes sucked the first time and will suck for forever meawhile iw was funny the first time and quickly became unfunny after a second viewing. Story wise I’d say aquaman was way more fluent and easy to follow with a more standard plot outline ( this allows for the craziness to come a little more naturally). Something about iw felt super messy to me, just scene after scene , and plus the whole connected universe thing just doesn’t impress me plot wise. Both equal on cgi action quality , but aquaman steals it in my opinion for variety in its action scenes. Plus the laser sharks , drum playing octopus , and all those goofy things make this a spectacle that we’ve never seen. The over dramatic tone , all the mythology , and costumes. But avengers has the advantage of not being an origin story and having multiple characters show off there powers ( unbelievably fun). But I can’t help but vote for the under dog that is that audacious and nuts.

Saw it last night and I had a great time.
It’s just a big, silly, fun comic book movie.
I’m a big fan of Momoa’s Aquaman, and he really carries the movie.
The tone was all over the place, but it just moves at such a fast pace that you don’t have time the dwell on it.
Great fun, I’m sure it’ll do well and further cement the DCEU’s recovery.

My bro has seen it and insists it's ****. Said (more or less) when u feel more about a VW Beetle than anything about Aquaman & co.... (we went to Bumbleee instead). Sez some of the underwater stuff is alright but the film sux...so after Bumblebee I'm sayin' how great that movie is etc. and tells me "I told you; Aquaman sux compared to this" and the girl starting to clean the theater agrees with him and sez "yeah, it does."

Kept asking him if Aquaman is one of those movies that's so bad it's good or what? Nah, he said, it's just BAD. I say "but it's got Willam Dafoe!" He sez it doesn't help...
sez u watch Aquaman and u see why Marvel is dominating the market.

Not sayin' anyone who likes this is wrong - plan to see it Fri/Sat but hope there's SOMETHING there that makes me feel like I didn't waste premium movie tickets. For me Jason Mamoa playin' Jason Mamoa isn't a big draw. Guess if it really sux we can go to next theater and watch Mary Poppins.

Boy how the tables have turned.

Who would’ve ever thought that if you want to get away from the MCU disintegration grim you go and watch a fun and fluffy DCEU movie.

Remember when Snyder was going to make sophisticated adult superhero dramas while everyone laughed and mocked the fluffy MCU comedies.

I said from day ONE that Marvel was going to school Snyder-brothers on how to stealthily incorporate “serious drama” masquerading as “silly comedy”.

There were plenty of fans who caught on to how Marvel was handling their stakes but then there were the Snyder Cut fanatics lol

So yes even though Aquaman is a very fun WB still needs to do a better job at weaving sustainable quality drama into this much needed new direction they have embarked on.

I did find Aquaman to have heart I really think it’s a must see Imax movie.

*Grins*. It's LUV. Or maybe just sparin' the universe the hot blast of air that results when I pay for premium movie tickets, sing for weeks about "this movie of a lifetime! This will be the BEST movie in the history of the universe! It's not a MOVIE, it's an EVENT!" and then get *deflated*.

Like, the poor guy had to sit through the Prometheus after-movie rant and the IW after-movie meltdown (that was a bad one...). (Tho will say none of my emoting even compares to the after-TLJ explosions I read online. I'm an AMATEUR compared to PROFESSIONAL ranting. Some reviews I watched literally blew my hair back.)

I told my bro tho - now I've got morbid curiosity. And low expectations. Maybe it will be OK.

I dont want comedies, fluffy or MCU movies.

What i want is a dark batman with his non cheesy humor, i want a heroic wonder woman with some of her naive humor, i want a heroic boy scout superman with his normal humor, i want a goofy aquaman and i want a funny cyborg and flash. So what i am asking for is the comics put on the big screen.

Dude you crack me up why cant you just watch a movie that isnt made by Disney with an open mind?? Why did you even buy tickets for this, you already hate it before seeing it, already posting that you regret your purchase and how you wasted money. Who in their right mind spends $50 on tickets for a movie they already know they wont like before seeing it? That's got to be the stupidest thing anyone could do. Please tell me its not just so you can come to this thread and rant and rave about how bad it is for days on end, with meme after meme,. I don't see movies I hate, and I don't frequent the forum threads either. I saw the last jedi because I love star wars I didn't go into it thinking it was trash, if that was the case I wouldn't have paid money to see it in the theater. Nobody does that, I saw it opening night, I didn't have any preconceived notions, I was excited as **** but it let me down, I definately didn't see it cause I hated it before walking into the theater just so I could validly talk **** on a message board.
