Tim Miller strikes again with what I consider to be the best Aragorn likeness yet.
I actually don't like wire in capes, as I can almost never get it to bend right and look like it is hanging naturally, so the loss of the wire is actually a plus in my book. I really wanted to see this one in person to make up my mind about it but I didn't see it on display at SDCC, so my mind remains not made up.

His hair is sculpted, it doesn't look bendy. Although I touched the piece of hair on his forehead lightly and it bent a bit before going back, but that could be due to the fact that it's laying off his forehead and I think it could break if you touch it too hard.

I see what you mean about the eyes. I think that orange outline is what may be leading many of us to see a bit of a Sith Lord here, although before now we couldn't quite put a finger on it...
Because of all the natural sunlight in Zoomaround's shots, you don't quite see what looks like a washed out skin-tone on Aragorn's face and especially the lips. From havoc's shots, we see an image which looks a lot more like the Sideshow production stills than with Havoc's. Couple the pale palor with the Sith accented eyes => instant Nosferatu
Impossible to say which shots are more representative of the in-hand piece, but at present count, it IS two to one on the side of the Aragorn sucking your blood.
Again, I think there is tremendous potential with this piece. If we just paint some color into his face, improve the notorious Sideshow eyes, take the browline down a little in terms of the intensity on his face, and possibly treat the stubble with a little more subtleness, I think one of our re-painters could get this VERY close to the proto!

It was looking ok till the close-ups on the face. Sculpt is definitely off and he still looks evil and if not, then a little bit sick as well. Like he has Jaundice or something. Pass. This could have been a lot better.

Hmm, still undecided as to whether I want to reorder this based on the pics. The pics look good, the statue, just not sure yet. Do either of you guys have the Frodo PF? I'd like to see them standing next to each other if possible.

Man, I was so pumped to come home today and see a shipping notice in my email, but it wasnt there
I am dying to see this piece in person, and Sideshow is holding my LSB Ringwraith and sending them both at the same time to save me a bit of cash, so Im twice as anxious for the shipping notice.

The eyes are yellower than most PFs and the gloss on them makes them shine strangely under artificial light. But in person it's not really noticeable.

Nice pictures Dave (and everyone). You can really see the likeness. I do get the feeling that a better paint job around the eyes in particular would make it even better, but it's quite good as it is.

Glad to see they didn't ruin the figure completely. Actually the likeness turns out very fine (it could have been perfect though). I'm actually considering getting one thru secondary market. The exclusive one is not a must for me but if the chance is there, well...

The Exclusive is on second chance...I'm seriously considering canceling out my Wolf Pred and putting the funds towards this. After reward points added it'd only end up costing me about $100 more.....hmmmm....

Personally I like both hand options. I think the open hand is nice cause it makes it seem like he's about to take his sword and slice open an Orc. The dagger hand works too though, especially since they lowered that arm a bit, it looks much better. I'm going to be switching them up pretty often. Also I just want to point out that his face is really blown up in my pics, and in person even when you get right up close to him, the orange around his eyes isn't as noticeable, especially when you view him from a little ways away. And it depends on what kind of light you display him in, the brighter the light, the more certain things will stand out, like the reddish hue he has to his skin, which I'm a bit baffled why it was added, but it doesn't ruin the statue in any way.
