When Anakin went up for sale, I logged into my Sideshow account first and then I logged into my newsletter account. I refreshed the newsletter page until the preorder link came up.

I think this pre-order will be handled a bit differently because of the server load on Anakin. Pay attention to your emails.

From the newsletter flash today:

"Once you are qualified for 'Priority Pre-Order,' simply go to the Sideshow Collectibles home page (www.SideshowCollectibles.com) on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 10 AM (PST). You will be prompted to enter your Online User Account user name and password. If you successfully login and you are verified by the system as a Newsletter Account holder, you will be directed to the "Purchase" option for the Lurtz Exclusive!"

Dave is right, we are trying something a bit different - at 10 o'clock the site will be "streamlined" for Priority Pre-Ordering Lurtz. Therefore - wherever you are on the site and you hit "refresh" or click an internal Sideshow link, or whatever link you use to get to the site at that time, or if you just type in www.sideshowcollectibles.com into your address bar between 10 AM and noon PST - you will be presented with an option to enter your User Account name and password (NOT your newsletter account info - "online user account" always refers to your ordering account) to continue on to the Lurtz pre-order ONLY. If you don't wish to participate in the pre-order, you may choose to continue on to the main site, which will not have any Lurtz links or anything during that "Priority" time period.

I'm not privy to the technical details (and probably wouldn't understand them even if I was ), but the ultimate purpose is to lighten the load on the actual pre-order page, since that one page is the only thing that will come up when you choose to priority pre-order and enter in your information.
