Okay, we all have to put our heads together to find out who owns this piece, how I can force him/her to sell it to me, and do it soon! I need an original Turner in my collection as of yesterday!

I saw your post and it made me remember something. As this is one of most Witchblade fans' favorite drawings of the character, all knowledge of this piece has stuck in my brain. I went digging and found my copy of a Wizard magazine special publication on Fathom and the Top Cow Universe published back in 1999.

Inside that is a section that has a photo walk-through of Turner's office with printed blurbs about various objects. In there is a framed poster of the piece in question with a blurb that reads:

Out of Place
One of Turner's Favorite Witchblade pieces is "In Quiet Repose," framed as a poster here. "My dad has the original over his fireplace," says Turner. "The rest of his house is very Western - decorated with wood sculptures of elk, bears, and Indians. Then he's got this babe piece. He gets lots of ... comments about it."

I'd assume that the original is still in the possession of the family.

Wow, thanks for the info! I wonder how the image I posted was created, then, because it looks like a clean enough scan, and if his dad has owned it since before '99 it shouldn't look so clean and unframed... right? In any case, I've tried emailing Frank (however you spell his last name) about it and am hoping he can at least tell me where he last saw it.

Here's another artist piece that I'd love to own, but is way outta my price range, let alone the owner being very happy owning it:

What do you guys think? An unused Ed Benes cover, looks to have some ink over pencil, 11x17, originally priced at $1800 down to $1425 shipped.

Worth it?? I like it, but I don't know what Ed Benes work usually goes for.

That's a nice piece, if I had the money I'd pick it up for that price. :D

To be honest, I would only spend that much on a piece if I loved the characters. Or truly loved the piece. For you to question it at all would lead me to tell you no. But that is just me.

I'm not one to buy something for any kind of big money just cause of the name.

So awesome !

That's an extremely nice piece of art by Benes. I think $1425 shipped is very reasonable for an original art. If I'd had the money, I will buy it. Most artist charges about that for a 11"x17".

Thanks for the reply VS! It's just that I had my heart set on that Poison Ivy Michael Turner piece, and now that it's gone and I have this cash I'm feeling like I need to spend it on something, but at the same time I'm feeling like I should keep it for an eventual Turner piece that I probably won't find for a very long time =/ That's why I'm asking for people's opinion on if I should just pull the trigger and buy the dam thing or not, lol

Sounds like a hesitating decision involving a lot of money. I'd say if you don't truly love the piece, then pass on it. I'm sure there is someone out there who would enjoy it as much as you would have enjoyed that turner-ivy piece. Plus, it sounds to me that buying this will only make you think of the turner-ivy piece, thus affecting your full enjoyment for buying this in the first place. That's just my opinion from what I've read.
