Never bought an art figure before whats their track record between proto and final product?

Hi Olbertfrog! Art Figures are great value and superb quality figures for its price. I'd go as far as saying that their previous headsculpts and paint apps are even better than Sideshow's latest releases. And their final products always match the quality of their prototypes.

Not bad.

Looks more like Stallone's mug under there though.

The only minor criticism i have of DREDD 2012 film was that karl Urban's chin wasn't pronounced enough, this figure has a slightly embellished chin/jaw bone, which for me makes this figure more desirable.

I'm 100% in, this will be my first 1/6 figure since Enterbay's Enter the Dragon Version B

I agree with you.

I hadn't paid much attention to the 2012 film, but I've ordered the figure and will seek out a copy of the film.

I prefer this uniform to the one Stallone wore, even though Stallone's was a little closer to the comics:

One major improvement with the 2012 is that the helmet looks more like the 'classic' example.

Yea this is just one of those rare cases where Tactical does make more sense than comic accurate on screen. To put Urban in that world they created for the new Dredd in no armor and spandex with 50 pound shoulder decorations wouldn't have made the most sense.

They seem to be selling fast.

Collectable Kitbash is down to 5 (from 20 I think), and OneSixthBruce only has 3 left.

I can easily see Art Figures follow the Punisher example and make different versions of Dredd. And follow The Rock example and make partner figures as well.


EDIT: make that 2 left at OSB!

EDI 2: make that 4 at CK.

These are flying out!

Urbans Dredd is much closer in look to the early Dredd comics than Stallones was.

Smaller shoulder pad / eagle, elbow and knee pads, no silly cod piece, and a slim silhouette rather than Stallone's bulk.

Yes, Dredd was pretty slim and much sleeker back then:

There were times in the later comics when his shoulder pads got so big he would've had trouble getting through a set of double doors!

Something tells me this information got out a bit early. It's not up on Art Figure's site, and I'm pretty sure the only dealers that have this up, just copied the info from the first post here. None of them have the release date listed.
