Anyone know this movie?

Scene is a gang of pals who, somehow having escaped an apocalyptic event that wipes out humanity, are filling up with gas a van they come across at a gas station. The dude at the pump looks up and sees through the van window a chick with a traumatized blank stare on her face. She joins the group and together they try to figure out the nature of the event.

Saw this as a midday matinee when I was a kid, around 1980. That's the only scene in the whole movie I remember, cause it freaked me the hell out seeing that chick in the van.

Great thread Nova :)

Maximum Overdrive!?

Him is not it. Was a few years before that :)

in fight club Why was Brat Pitt Bald at the end of the movie? was there a reason? was that in the Book? or did he have to cut his hair for something else?

He finally realizes he doesn't need Tyler anymore hence the reason Tyler appears less attractive or charming. You'll notice Tyler a more sharp, good looking figure when the narrator relies on Tyler for decision making.

The change in appearance happens after the car accident, after he begins to fall in love with Marla and insists everyone remember Bob's name.

Think about it.

:exactly::exactly:

The narrator was shaving the other members of project mayhem's heads, he didn't have as much confidence in them as he did himself. Therefore, tyler comes back as a space monkey because the narrator sees him as a lesser ego now.

Thats a cool introspective look into it, I never really gave it any thought.

You don't wanna know how many times I've seen Fight Club. :lol

that's something I wonder about for years, I thought maybe Brat just had to cut if for another reason but I never thought it was part of the meaning but it totally makes sense, :yess:

Same, I always just assumed it was a "down to business" cut for his final act, but him being marginalized in the narrator's subconcious makes so much more sense, plus its really a cool idea to show the narrator's mindstate.

I have a Question on the film American Psycho. I have scene the entire movie, never read the book tho. if someone can answer a small question.

Ok, i know the movie is open ended and up to interpretation, my theory is that in the end, he did kill all those people, and everything did happen, but the satire in the film is saying that all the yuppie wall street schmucks are all the same, they look, dress and are all fake so they get confused with eachother and patrick can "get away with murder"

my question is whats the deal with Pauls apartment complex? When patrick goes there twords the end everything is gone and that creepy real estate lady is there? Whats the deal with that?

Thats the only part i dont understand.

Oh yes, it goes completely against your theory but I am not discounting that.

Can never really make my mind up at the ending. :lol

A likely theory is Paul was merely a part of his psychosis and never even existed.

yeah but then you have the lady acting super weird and lying about the listing, like if what happened there was real and they covered it up, or something like that, well, in the behind the scenes the director I think says that everything did happen, or the writer, I dont remember, and they said they regretted making the cop car blowing up so unreal because it gave the impression that it didnt happen
