Do you think this means that if they pick your question someone at Sideshow will do a dramatic reading of it on the podcast? :)

James Lipton with "The Man Behind the Show" !

EDIT: on account of being too rude, I'm removing my comment.

New Post: How long does it take to sculpt an average 1/6 scale figure head?

I'll forgive Mat for anything for that alone. To look at his volume of work is stupifying.

Indeed! Mat pretty much was "Sideshow" in the early years! One of my personal favorites is the PF Phantom of the Opera! and the other PF Monsters ...and the Universal Monster 12" figures... and all the LBHs... :google

I admit by first comment was a bit too harsh (don't worry I didn't send it in). He just seem too hit and miss for my taste. Luke is near-perfect were as Mulder and Han are too puffy. Does he have a problem sculpting people with a bit of fluff to them or what? I know Sideshow wouldn't be anywhere it is today without him and for that I thank him dearly. I just feel that if he can't nail a likeness as good as Luke, he should pass it on to Andy or someone else. Perhaps he is just too busy and his work suffers? I'd rather see fewer figures a year and get higher quality than 10 figures a year and acceptable quality.

So Mat, if you are reading, I do apolagize for my previous post but ask you to take your time and make them as good as possible (which I'm sure you already do). I'd rather have quality over quantity. Luke is great though. He is one of my favorite, if not my favorite figure you guys have made so far.

PS Wasn't/isn't Mat a Co-Founder of Sideshow? Wouldn't that make him "the boss?"

You will not hear me bad mouth ANYTHING Mat does... EVER. :monkey3 :monkey3 :monkey3

If it wasn't for Mat there would not have been a Planet of the Apes line. PERIOD. It was his passion for the project that made it a reality.

And I sure LOVE his APES!!! :monkey5 :monkey5 :monkey5

Too bad he didn't sculpt Ursus!!! :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

Like I've posted before, I got to talk to him last year at SDCC... and he is one heck of a nice guy. I'm hoping he is there this year... I've got a few Apes for him to sign!!! :monkey3

I'm not sure I'd dare meet him now. :monkey3 Perhaps it was the factory's fault those figures turned out sub-par. Yeah thats it.

Mat=good.
Factory=messes up the sculpt.

Yeah Mat is a nice guy. Takes it on the chin, except.........
