Asmus the mask

Hi there I just bought the asmus mask figure and wondered if anyone could give me advice on how too make it look better, I paid more than I should of but I guess that's what you get when you wait 8 months and only see 2 of them on eBay aha any advice on how too make it look better ?

What's wrong with it? I know it's not a 10/10, but if you're a fan of the movie, I reckon it's "Masky" enough to go on the shelf. Though bear in mind I've only seen it in pics, so....

Were I more a fan of the movie I'd be sorely tempted to pick him up myself, and if I see him nice and cheap one day, I may still be tempted.

Haha the sculpts a tad dark and the body is pretty crap (Lose joints) I was thinking I might just change the body aha! apart from that its a cool figure yeah I had one in my watch list it sold for £375 crazy considering it was only £68 when it came out. I'm not a massive fan of the film I just have it as something I watched alot with my grandad when I was a kid aha

Whoa! I've never seen it foe that much! About 5 months ago Asmus had a few on their website for $80 because the packaging was damaged but all the contents were still mint. I was soo tempted to pick it up but I had more important stuff to buy. That price you mentioned is insanity.

There are a lot of people on eBay who "win" items at very high prices, but it's just shill accounts designed to artificially inflate the price.

I see $200 figures sell for $500 on eBay, and there is no way someone is that stupid.

I owned this figure and first thing I did was strip it down and redress it. Was simply a case of futzing with it until I was happy. There's all the makings of a great figure there but I agree it didn't inspire me much either straight out of the box. Could also upgrade to a genuine true type other than that it really is just a case of playing about with him until you get him looking right.

One thing I did notice with mine when I had it was the shoes are terrible and don't have the white spats on them. Add them and should make it look much better. Head repaint with one of the many very talented artists here on the boards would probably do wonders for it also.

I did a bodyswap to a truetype. I had to dremmel out the shoes and insert the peg sockets from a pair of feet. This improved it dramatically imho.

Thank you for the advice that's what I was thinking new body etc a reprint too as the head is too dark, it's got so much poetetinal

Ahh man should of picked it up I've been crazy trying to get this I gave in when it was listed I just bought it its brand new too something tells me they weren't mass produced am I right ?

To be honest I think the heads far too small and it could do with a better, more accurate sculpt.

Oh and a better paint job of corse.
