That's where I got mine from, and it was a good experience. Price was great, shipping reasonable, and I think they shipped as soon as they received it (shipped Saturday, I got it Monday).

I read some glowing reviews of them over on OSW as well.

BTW, I have good news for those who preordered Eowyn and were hoping to get the new WK body: I got an email back from Ekia saying that Asmus was sending those separately, and they will be shipping it to me when they arrive, possibly in the next two weeks. So I expect other vendors will do the same.

That's great to hear.

And thanks for posting your detailed hair instructions! (Even though I have zero chances of reproducing your results. :lol)

Hello everyone. I am a long time lurker of this site but have seen an opportunity to finally give back to the community.

I was browsing this thread to see how to tackle the hair on this figure when I was surprised to read that people had received this figure without the replacement Morgul Lord / Witch King body. I bought mine from 7toys7 on Ebay which arrived today with the replacement body. Annoyingly I've got to go to work later so haven't had a proper play around with either. Overall first impressions are it's a good body but the shoulders could be a bit tighter. I decided to take a few quick photos to show it to you all.

The body came in a separate bag which 7toys7 had wrapped up and put along side Ewoyn's box. It comes with the two standard neck connectors but without any hands.

Some shots showing how it handles the Morgul Lord's sword and mace,

It stands well on its own but I would be reluctant to pose it lifting the mace without a stand long-term. I don't think the elbows will take the mace's weight, with the pivot, for a lengthy period and it is difficult for the wrists which did keep rotating. I've always thought the mace was too heavy for any figure to hold properly. I had no issues with either joints regarding the sword though. No issues with the legs what so ever. When I get home from work tomorrow I'll dress the body and see how well it supports the head.

Lastly as this line has been plagued by weak joints I just wanted to show how Eowyn copes with her sword and shield.

I have no worries for her as all her joints are tight. Asmus has definitely improved on this and makes me confident to continue with this line. I am pleased with the figure but I have the same squiff hilt as Tank Girl so I suspect that will be a production issue.

Thanks for the info and pics, YD! Looks like COO body addresses all the problems with the original, so that's great news.

so the review on eowyn is good? and she can lift her weapon without any problem?

Happy to help and thanks for the welcome.

Yes and yes!

I'd be happy to review her and am planning to give more details on the new the Mogul Lord body, which I'll continue in his own thread. I got sidetracked when the Dark Knight armoury and Kaustic's Arena fighter turned up yesterday. You wait months for a release and then three arrive at once!

I don't think I'll have time tomorrow but will get some pics and info up for you all on Thursday.

nice!! like i posted before i only worry about the body.. glad eowyn body is good.
what i dont get it. asmus stated they use KP01 body in all their previous LOTR released. but only nazgul and morgul who got ****** body .
anyway with your review. i will order aragon. hate it if aragon cant hold his sword.

Man seeing this new body doubly makes me want my Witch King figure back.
I thought about this before I sold mine off (I was committed for a while to replacing the body). Ultimately I just don't much care for the Witch King's helmet and exposed armour. On one hand, it definitely has a cool factor but on the other... I prefer the anonymous Ring Wraith look overall. Differentiating between them based on the sword and their grieves/boots is much more interesting. Just my take in hopes you no longer regret letting your WK go! :lol

Good to see someone else getting theirs as well now. Good info and pics! I've now ordered the WK since I know I'll be getting the new body.

Question to you YDG: Does your vinyl cuirass have that sticky, tacky feel to it like mine? Also, the long strap on the scabbard harness on mine is also sticky.

I've added paint to the harness straps because the colors are wrong (should be more red-brown than dark chocolate brown), and the acrylic paint on that strap has yet to fully dry after several days--a really bad sign. The shorter harness pieces are all a harder vinyl and have taken the paint well dried completely, but that long strap is much softer like the cuirass material. If this is because the plasticizers are leaching out because of improper curing or perhaps the use of an incompatible solvent based paint during manufacture, it spells trouble for the durability of these figures and we may have some unhappy people as the vinyl breaks down. You usually hear of this kind of thing happening with vinyl over time, perhaps years later, so for it to be this way out of the box is not good. The bad thing about it is there is no solution to it that I know of, it doesn't get better over time, just worse.

For the sake of Asmus I hope I just got a bad one. I'm very curious to hear others chime in as they receive theirs to see if this is an isolated issue.

Just a quick update on my WIP:

I removed the helmet strap and made my own with working buckle. Straps and buckle are both leftover pieces from DML German helmets. I never throw anything out so I have baggies full of scrap pleather straps from the fifteen years of my bashes and custom projects. The straps needed a wash of thinned dark brown paint to complete the look.

Now I can make the helmet strap as loose or tight as I want, and remove it without scraping the chin. I like the loose look, reminds me of this scene: ("Courage Merry, courage for our friends!")P1050374.jpg

The more I work on this figure, the more I want to modify and change. I must admit I'm becoming more and more disappointed by the quality of this figure, now that the euphoria of finally getting an Eowyn figure after all these years has worn off a bit (she is by far my favorite character of the trilogy:eowyn). Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful anyone is even bothering to make it at this point. But for $180 I just don't find the quality to be there. I don't own the ACI Aragorn, and I know that one cost a lot more up front and is now crazy expensive on the aftermarket. But I do have several ACI figures, including the Gladiator Roman general and several of the Greek hoplites, and I have to say the crispness of detail and paint apps on those figures was far superior, and those were in the same general price point of $180-200.

I'll be posting more updates on my WIP. Since I'm new to this board, I'll ask before flooding this thread with more of my pics: Do people want me to start my own thread, or should I continue to post on here?
