AoU officially GONE from my local plex..wow this wasn't even out that long- looks to be about done at $450 milion or so....
I still say Disney has to be worried- HIGHER ticket prices than Avengers, more screens and huge expectastions and it doesn't get near Avengers box office.

Marvel just needs to cool off a bit -- go away for at least one summer with nothing, then everyone will welcome anything back with open arms. But three movies a year all interconnected starts to get tiresome. At the end of the day, many of the action scenes all start to blend together.

Somehow I think that releasing a movie that ends up being the fifth highest grossing film in the history of cinema would hardly qualify as "worrisome."

I don't even know what qualifies as a success anymore thanks to Internet discussions. :lol

Back in the 90's I had no idea that movies got bad reviews (except for the occasional Siskel and Ebert review) or any idea that some films bombed. I don't think people cared either. Now people go on Rotten Tomatoes and Box Officemojo to view numbers and statistics like they're analysts :lol

Well, DUH!

"The Avengers" had proper build up and was a nice summer blockbuster.
AoU had no build up, was poorly written and released in poor cut.

It was only saved by their huge marketing machine.

Well I tried to AVOID calling it underwhelming and a disappointment..after all Furious 7 was a mega hit and it was utter crap...:lol

yeah I had no idea Monster Squad was a huge bomb, had no idea the crow 2 was hated as much as it was, i had no idea howard the duck was such a bad movie (had no idea people thought the Lost World was hated by so many people)

but to be honestly the way things are now are a lot more fun lol

Elementary school students didn't know which movies bombed at the box office in the 90's? Why would they?

sometimes the newspapers will talk about how much a movie would made, but they would never really talk about how much they flopped now that I think about it
you always heard how much Independence day made or how much Titanic was doing, stuff like that.

There was the occasional film that was so big that you'd see it on the news, like Batmania in 89. When I went to see both Toy Story and Independence Day, I had no idea if they got good reviews or what their opening weekend was at the boxoffice. When I saw Forrest Gump, I thought it was a great film and it even won an Oscar for best picture I think, but if you go to Rotten Tomatoes, it has a low score. In fact I think Jurassic World has a higher score than Forest Gump right now :lol

Rotten Tomatoes isn't even a reliable indicator for older, pre-modern internet movies.

**** em'.
