Ultron was a bit of a disappointment. In the comics he could take all the Avengers by himself. In the movie he barely was able to take on Cap.

Guys, was talking to the brother tonight and he raised the question - in what way is Ultron different from Jarvis? Why the need to create Ultron, considering the abilities of Jarvis as an AI - as demonstrated in Iron Man 3 and the Iron Legion from the start of AOU? Was not Jarvis able to independantly control a **** load of Iron Man armours? And Starks whole idea of putting a 'suit of armour' around the world....errr...didn't he pretty much already have that covered? Why the need for Ultron?

I see it as the Ultron program was envisioned as something grand tha Jarvis wasn't enough for. Stark is terrified of threats no defense on Earth can handle, and he's just incapable of feeling anything is enough, Jarvis and the Iron Legion aren't enough.

Pretty much why the idea of Stark creating (not on his own, which is even more dumb) Ultron didn't work.
In CB Pym created it as a breakthrough, FOR SCIENCE!
In MCU Stark did it because he was extremely paranoid.

The lack of "brain pattern" concept is their biggest mistake though. It could explain a lot.

For starters, he used the mind stone to create Ultron.

Who knows what role Jarvis was going to play with Stark's initial idea since we never got to see it, Ultron hijacked the project.

But ultimately Jarvis became Stark's world protector anyways by becomming Vision.

Obviously Stark never really specified how he planned to "put a suit of armor around the world" but I would guess that it would have something to do with Ultron being up in space with thousands upon thousands of drones just up there constantly orbiting. Then they could engage any invasion from space or drop down into the atmosphere if another army opens a dimensional rift.

I don't really see Vision as being the equivalent of that. He's basically just a robotic double for Thor and even with the mind stone I'm guessing couldn't inhabit thousands of other bodies since that seemed to be inherent in Ultron's "pre-mind stone" programming from the start.

Vision is a super being much more powerful than anything Ultron was going to be.

He defeated Ultron with his more advanced form of understanding, worthy enough to even lift Thor's hammer!

He's so powerful that Wanda will even want to ride his ****! :lol

Vision puts it pretty clearly right in the movie, he's not Jarvis, he's not Ultron, he's like a mix of both but on the finest of qualities, thus his worthiness to lift the hammer.

It'll be interesting to see his reactions in Civil War, he seems a character not prone to taking sides and yet he will take a side, at least to some extent.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the sound on this movie was sub-par to other Marvel releases? I noticed this watching in 2 different theaters and I am noticing it now again on a digital download. It's like it's really muted.

On other movies for example, Iron Man flying around had a very distinct rocket sound, same with his repulsor blasts. In this movie it was pretty muted. The same goes for explosions or heavy things hitting stuff around doesn't seem to sound what you would expect.

I noticed it each time I saw it in theaters, most notably when Thor threw Mjolnir to destroy Ultron Mk I, when Thor busted through a wall when he and Banner went looking for Widow and a couple of times Hawkeye used explosive arrows to destroy Ultron sentries.

I haven't noticed as big of a problem since I've watched on digital ... maybe because I don't expect it to be as loud ha
