Wasn’t Tom Cruise the original pick?

He was gonna star in IM when the rights where not with Marvel. He was gonna wear a transluscent faceplate and Howard would've been the villain, with Clooney as Nick Fury. Clooney decided to do some digging, read Ennis' Fury stuff and dropped out faster than a speeding bullet.

Timothy Olyphant was in the running for MCU Stark though. It could've been great, desu.

Stuff like that is honestly why Original Fury always will be better than SLJ Fury. Ultimate Fury was a ******* who cheated on his wife by ****ing her friends and family, but he doesn't have any depth beyond "is an ******* who does shady things and is SLJ". He's neutered. But between Hickman's Secret Warriors, Steranko's Agent of SHIELD Vol, and Ennis' MAX Stuff, non-canon as they may be, Original Fury got a whole lot of depth.
