Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I'm not sure if I could be anticipating this movie any more than I already am. I'll admit to being a huge MCU fanboy, but I truly expect to be blown away by this. It's almost like if it doesn't end up being my absolute favorite film from Marvel Studios (to date), then I'll be a little disappointed in it.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

So did I mishear or was it confirmed somewhere that there's a death in the first 15-20 minutes or so? I mean the way Ragnarök ended (plus the trailer) you can sort of piece together how things will turn out for Thor. Can't see it going anywhere but Loki being annihilated after giving up the Tesseract in exchange to spare Thor's life.

It's almost cliche in that big-villain-killing-another-villain kind of way but it needs to happen to a) show us that Feige and co are not messing around any more, and b) set the tone for the type of impactful villain Thanos (hopefully) is.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I think it goes down like this:

Thanos and his goons invade the ship. All the Asgardians including Heimdall are killed. Thanos grabs Thor by the head and forces him to watch while Proxima Midnight impales Loki.

I'd bet a'lot of money on this.

Also if this is what happens all the little psycho's on IG will go nuts.

Calling it now, it will go down just like TDKR and TLJ threads. :lol

As for the movie, my strategy is that I just don't get excited for CBMs so that way I'm not disappointed even if they do suck. The trailers look good so far but those two clips of Vision in Wakanda and the Black Order getting their ***** kicked by ***** Widow have my expectations lower than ever. I'm optimistic, but Marvel have proven they can make movies that live up to the hype (the original Avengers) as much as they can disappoint even when things look good (Age of Ultron).

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

1 billion dollars budget for both parts together -- so $500M each.

I'm pretty sure I'll get my money's worth for that.

If i could enjoy AoU ill be fine with IW. Sue me! Lol. My biggest gripe with AoU was the jokes. I still trust the russos. If there are any cringe jokes I expect them from the guardians haha.

I enjoyed aou in the movies but I took a step back and saw it was stupid. Maybe that will happen here. But I know they’ll be nerd rage. It’s inevitable. Tdk had it, iron man had it. It won’t be tlj level but the rage will come. That black order clip tho kinda makes me irked

Allow The Force Awakens to be your guide in the knowledge that everything you've ever wanted coming together can still be a large steaming turd.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

That clip of the Black Order is sad. Guess they won't be a challenge for the Avengers. Hell if Widow and Falcon can take them out so easily then any actual super powered or enhanced Avenger won't even need to bat an eye. They might as well be disposable minions. What a missed chance. How neutered will Thanos be?

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

In case it wasn't posted already, Tom Holland never met Benedict Cucumberbatch on set despite the fact that there's a lot of scenes of Peter and Strange together. There's a freakin' lot of combination shots with actors acting off placeholder people with dots over their faces.

I don't recall seeing a post related to that. That's too bad though. I think the scene would turn out better if the actual person is there... I know this is acting but you can't beat having the actual actor playing the character there in the room with you.

Over the weekend, Bautista appeared at Awesome Con, and given that he can’t talk anything about plot details from the forthcoming MCU film/s, he, instead, shared more information (via SuperBroMovies) regarding his experience filming Infinity War (and presumably also Avengers 4). This includes the reveal that Gunn lent a helping hand regarding writing lines for him and his co-Guardians. The actor didn’t get into any specifics, but it makes sense that Gunn helped in portraying his characters, especially when it comes to them speaking with other MCU characters to make for organic interactions. Further, since the twin Avengers films will be the springboard to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which Gunn will helm and write, it makes sense that he’s involved with how Star-Lord and company will be utilized.

IMO unfortunate because didn't think GOTG2 was all that great and pretty strained re the humor.

Unthrilled with what seems to be portrayal of Bruce Banner as almost bumbling which he wasn't in Avengers and Ultron. This is funny?

Best for me to follow other Freaks suggestions and ratchet down my expectations. Besides, there's another movie.

I was just thinking, Those two show up, apparently put the smack down on Scarlet Witch and Vision, then Cap, BW, and Falcon show up and put the smack down on them? something doesn't add up here.

Yeah, I've always thought the MCU performances were pretty good. Not giving the actors scripts I thought kinda sucked - at least some actors spend a lot of time thinking about their parts - IMO that was carrying secrecy too far. Don't think actors like acting with nothing either.

Maybe you can contribute the bumbling factor to the fact that he was stuck as the hulk for over two years? :dunno

Heard that awhile back- is it confirmed they actually spent that much? Perhaps RDJ got $100 million of it:lol
