Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Looking back, was the infinity glove and its gems...
completely destroyed at the end after Thanos did the snap? The gauntlet looked crushed and I can't remember if he had it on him when he sat down and watched the sun.
Also regarding Strange
A really cool scene was when he visited the future and saw millions of scenarios and only one where they come out on top. I wonder if giving up the time stone to Thanos was part of his plan to assure the victory he saw?

The gauntlet was crushed but I think the stones were fine, the scene went by fast I could be wrong.

And yes I think Doc saw that him giving Thanos the stone would lead to Captain Marvel showing up, the rest is history

It's Hemsworth remember?

Douche can't even be bothered to wear a damn eyepatch :lol

Might as well have Thor in jeans the entire time.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Damn that was one of the best parts of thors movies , not only did he look awesome but it gave him the illusion that things done in other movie matter, oh well

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

The Thanos and Gemora relationship should have been explored more in previous films to make that "powerful" scene in IW more meaningful. I felt nothing during that scene. :lol

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

regarding Gamora...

do you guys think they will actually keep her dead or find a way for her to come back? I think Loki and Heimdall are dead for sure.

I could see Angela in Guardians 3 if they don't revive Gamora.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I read it, you claim to acknowledge those flaws but you clearly let yourself go with outlandish claims filled with hype :lol

It's ok, don't stop being you and getting hyped.

I'm just saying, jeez Jye so much hype :lol

You don’t think this movie is worthy of any of the hype?

So it’s just a safe flat looking dud for you?

I’m able to point out the flaws while respecting what worked it doesn’t have to be a zero or 10 for me.

You think what Disney accomplished here was something simple?

Same here, when they opened up with that, which was worthy of Jye's hype, no less, and they quickly followed by Loki's chocking face almost popping his eyes out, a scene worthy of Game of Thrones, I was full on hype too, like "holy ****, this is gonna be a bloodbath", but no, it went soft and vanilla after that.

I agree but we can’t confirm the chickened out part until A4.

Not THAT much hype.

So it’s just a safe flat looking dud for you?
Safe yes, a dud for me? Eeeeh yes, maybe, my gut tells me yes, but like I said, I watched it dubbed and with loud people, that may have dampened my experience and I for sure will never again go to premieres and not with more than 1 people.

I think the accomplishment is that 10 year trajectory and the logistics of it, as a business plan, not as an artistic endeavor, and this movie is just the inertia of it.

I agree but we can’t confirm the chickened out part until A4.
Eeeh I think we can, this was the movie to go full Rian Johnson in """subverting expectations""", with the cliffhanger and all.

Next movie will be about reversing this movie.

Unless they do a real switcharoo with a Thanos teamup because of a bigger villain.

But think about it, 10 years, when have they ever subverted expectations?

Just stop talking with me Jye, I don't want to ruin your hype.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I don’t want to call a lot of people misunderstood that watched the film

But I think a lot of the fans are overreacting to the outcome

Vanishing doesn’t mean they are dead
:lecture

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

People are overreacting?

Even my normie friends know they're all coming back :lol

Oh yeah, people all over in reviews, social media, are so sad and convinced from the outcome, some are commenting saying why did they do this, what a waste :lol

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

the rumor that i keep reading is that strange did something to send them to another dimension.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

My problem with the ending:

With them already anouncing GotG3, Spiderman 2, and BP2, it negates all the emotional impact of their death. They *SHOULD* have only "vanished" people whose future could conceivably be up in the air. It is interesting to me, though, that all of the original Avengers made it.

And ok, some people are saying that "vanished" doesn't mean dead. But if they're gonna have to rewind so that those people aren't dead, there's not necessarily any reason they don't rewind so that NONE of them are dead. Not Loki, not Heimdall, not Gamora.

It makes me think that the flashback to NY scenes being filmed for Avengers 4 will stop everything then and there. Though they'll still have to find a way to make T'Challa king if Zemo doesn't kill his pops I suppose.

I'm just a little upset that I came out of the theater having seen all the dead heroes and knowing they won't be. It's like watching TWOK and knowing Spock will be back. Destroys the impact.

And speaking of Star Trek:

Maybe Thanos' exact plan was known to comic fans, but there's a classic Trek episode called "The Conscience of the King" where there's a plague ravaging a planet and the governor - Kodos the Executioner - kills off half the population randomly to save the other half. Completely randomly, not accounting for wealth or status or anything. Sound familiar? I was having some serious deja vu.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I like some of the theories

That the ones that didn’t vanish are the ones that are dead or dying in limbo and they are stuck away from reality and the others

That would be interesting :horror

The movie is fully worthy of my hype because the business layer underneath is called capitalism and the outer later was thrilling as ****!

I’m curious was BvS the only movie in this genre that you liked?

Do you even still like it?

I do find the psychology of people who hate everything to be very interesting. Like literally everything is bad no matter what.

Honestly it’s got to be torturous knowing with 100% certainty that you will hate a movie before even going to see it because inside you know it will never meet a self imposed standard of what you perceive to be perfection.

That has to be very depressing and debilitating to live with that.

Now do you fantasize that you can actually make the movie better had they hired you as a consultant or do you recognize that your version of the movie would more than likely be 100% worse?

Does hype make a person a slave to capitalism?

Thank you for your responses to my lengthy review. :hi5:

Of course.. I hope you enjoyed all my comments :lol We agree on most everything.. Your nagging issues were not as much of an issue for me but I think we enjoyed it about the same.. Yes a lot is riding on A4

OK did you not read my lengthy review?

I clearly said the movie has some major frustrating flaws mostly involving playing it safe with the deaths.

Just ask JAWS he read it lol
.

Yep I read it all :lol

Jye has some issues with this film for sure.. I think he is being too hard on it in some instances. But he had issues for sure :)

I agree but we can’t confirm the chickened out part until A4.

1. I think its great that they chickened out for this film. We are back to mostly the original Avengers group.. A last Hurrah perhaps..

2. As a Comic book reader I guess I don't need my characters to die to feel that there is drama.. Sure characters die in the comics but they always come back.. I don't want any of the main hero's to die.. No reason to have it really. Why does everyone need Cap or Thor to die?? They don't demand it in the comics. If they do go down that path then fine I hope they do it well but I can't help but think if Cap gets killed it will lesson my enjoyment of other films... :(

Bucky, War Machine, Black Widow, Hawlkeye.... There is plenty of main hero's that we can knock off.. I say Let the others ride off into the sunset :lol

What can I say? I am a sappy sucker for my comic Hero's :lol

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Give it a couple weeks the more honest opinions will start pouring in just like star wars , civil war , age of ultron. It's somewhere in the middle of the pack for mcu. For now the hype is just infecting people. With the run time and the lack of any real direction towards the end this won't be one people are constantly rewatching
