I finally saw this a second time last night. Even with no IMAX or 3D it still played gloriously in a massive 2D Dolby auditorium with laser projection and Atmos sound.
A couple random thoughts after seeing it again:
1. I wonder why Heimdall didn't send Thor and Loki with the Hulk to Earth.
2. Thor is absolutely the most sympathetic character in this film and was incredibly fun to root for.
3. Titan battle is probably my new favorite straight "superhero fight" of any movie.
4. Cap keeping Thanos' glove from closing with just his bare hands, damn.
5. I said before that Star-Lord trying to shoot Gamora was an incredibly unheroic thing to do (regardless of how the "numbers" game might have played out) but I'm very glad that he did it. It's only natural that with so many characters faced with the choice of having the opportunity to deliberately sacrifice one for many that one or more would give in to such a difficult moral quandry. The guilt that he'd been feeling must have been eating him up to the point where when he learned that Thanos *did* kill her "for the cause" that he projected his guilt onto Thanos and just lost it.
6. Even knowing that Peter was going to die, holy crap Holland's performance got me all over again.
7. Sitting back and soaking it all in again I'm just even more blown away that the Russos made such a coherent narrative out of what should have been an utterly unwieldy mess. And even more impressive is that whenever they'd cut to a certain group of characters I'd never go "ah man this is the boring group" no I was equally invested in all the arcs of each respective group. Just amazing.
8. Banner's head in the Hulkbuster suit. What the actual eff, lol. I'm guessing they gave that animation to someone's significant other at ILM who had no formal training or something, lol.
No, he just seems on edge like yesterday when he got mad about MCU happy meals.
Just fyi its Darth Snoopy, he's a good mod
x
I wasn't mad; I was just enforcing the forum rules. Like Shell said; off topic chit chat is fine but when it overshadows the main topic, like it did in this thread, it becomes a problem and the thread needs to be set back on the rails.
And FYI; I'm not a vegetarian. I'm a card carrying carnivore.

I read on Box Office Mojo that it was the fifth largest global release of all time.
It still is, but it should pass Jurassic World soon. Then it will only be behind the members of the $2 billion club.

I doubt it will crack the Top 3 but it will be interesting to see if it makes another $340 million worldwide (I kind of doubt it) to make the $2 billion club. I can definitely see it reigning as the highest grossing cbm for many years to come though.
