After looking it over and speaking to the guys on The RPF, this has been identified as an exact recast of the Sideshow bust.

Like, completely exact. Which is concerning cuz now I feel like I've done something wrong.

Im sorry, but if I were you I would send it back and have whoever it was issue a refund. Plus steps should be taken to inform the auction site of the issue

how did you not know it was a recast? It's so blatantly obvious.

Dont say that! We all start someplace. HT is not exempt either. There are copies made in China.
Thats why you got us. You have a question, you just need to ask.
We could have helped out before your purchase.

Anyways, all is not lost if its from Ebay. You just need to open a file and contest it.

Selling or advocating recasts is not allowed here and any information you have about the seller should go to Sideshow.

But it's fine that you posted about it here - otherwise how would you know?

For the record, I just checked and the guy I bought the bust off has thrown another up

I want to personally report him myself, never reported on eBay before though so I'll have to dig around, but if someone else wants to then maybe they can be stopped, they're literally throwing them up

They've got loads of busts and you guys may be able to identify any recasts

There's also what appears to be the SSC bust I bought but with a mark vi chest added to it.

It was an aircraft paint company near Boeing in WA
I have no idea what they used
