I saw the case of bud select and immediately got sick to my stomach and had to leave the thread. I'm sure the turkey tastes great though. :)

Good question! My new girlfriend and I are not close enough yet to share the holiday with family. So we decided to do our own thing. That way we can each spend time with our families and not feel obligated to be together. So I made the decision to cook. Honestly I love to cook so this was perfect!

SO basically you made an excuse to eat twice as much Turkey and stuffing :D

Lol "Turkey Avenger". We need a campy movie like that.

Ewww. I hate Thanksgiving food. Hopefully I can grab a sub or a pizza on that day... and Christmas.

Ok Chandler.

Dangit Badmoon, now I have Turkey fever again. Its one thing enjoying a delicious turkey, its another attempted the feat yourself. Something satisfying about cooking a big turkey like that without burning/undercooking/overcooking it.

Congrats!!

PS. Badmoon. When do you know the turkey is done? At what temp and where do you place the thermometer?

It is done when the temperature is exactly 165 degrees between the thickest part in the leg and the thigh as well as the stuffing. Then you let it rest for 20 minutes before carving to allow the juices to sneak back into the meat. :peace
