Of course people are entitled to their opinion. But in mine its $1200 well spent. Fantastic detail, beautifully sculpted, weighs a ton and matches in well with the SS/Weta line. At the end of the day its my opinion which matters most.:D

Cool :duff

No detail?

I think it's a well-done piece, and you should be happy with it, as you seem to be! I personally like the SSW Balrog, but can appreciate the artistry in the custom 'Rog. I'm sure there are some people who would react negatively to it who would praise your custom incessantly if it had "Sideshow/WETA" stamped on the base. :monkey3

That is very true

My only beef with that and other balrogs, is that it is never defined in tolkien's work whether or not balrogs had wings. I know they had wings in the movie, but in the book it's very debatable. Here's a link to a discussion on it. Great read, from a great site.

That is my favorite Tolkien website! They've got everything! And yes, I did read the that debate awhile back......very interesting!

Damn straight it's the greatest tolkien site there is. I had a boring spot at work for about 2 weeks. I read that entire site page by page...SO glorious.

Great, now the secret it out for all the LOTR trivia games ....

I have won quite a few SS contests with that gem. :rotfl :lol

If only and only if, that stamp changed the statue to look better. Just haveing the name on the base wouldn't help it though, IMHO. It needs some work, but a good start none the less. It is not a horrible piece, just not a great piece or one worth that cost. Especiaslly with the original Balrog being put out by SSW only being $300 or $350, whatever it was.

My point is, there are some posters here (no names, you know who they are) who are quick to criticize this piece, but would slobber all over themselves praising it if SIDESHOW had produced it.
