In case noone has brought this up I thought I might.

Since sideshow has watch us customise several base bodies with products from other companies. They really should offer Base boddies like all the other companies.

Especially since your making these new bodies, these could be used to swap out old bodies from former sales items like buffy,x-files,james bond etc. and give them a better body.

and it would give sideshow see the tallent of the customs done using the base bodies.

Yea id love to get some of the muscle bodies and new female bodies they havent released yet.

sideshow could make some quick cash with these since they could have a chop shop location on their page to buy parts and bodies. This might also give free range for their sculpters to release heads that they have been dieing to do but no reason to do so. and the costumers can get ride of clothes that could not be used either due to color, or the design pattern didnt work for that particular figure.

Just about every collectable company has done this. Mattel does it with their barbie basic in mdel pose and sells accessories and clothes seperatly. hot toys just sells bodies,cm toys does both etc etc.
with clothes and assessories it's like recycling so you dont have waste excess fabric can be used for the chop shop.
So it's just smart and good business.

Even just the forearms that were designed for the Lt Falcon figure. Would love to get a set of like 10 or 20 of these arms to swap onto older Prometheus figures.

Doubtful.

Why?

Sideshow took it in the chin with the very valid criticisms of their ART S. BUCK bodies from a few years back as well as problematic design & quality issues with their in house bodies used on a variety of their 1:6 offerings.

Given their defined & established products over the past few years, it is doubtful that they'll consider let alone go ahead with offering their "base bodies" as stand alone products because in terms of $ . . . I doubt it's even an option for them regardless of how much you may argue otherwise with your business "logic" & "rationale".

We got base bodies from ACI, HOT TOYS, KAUSTIC PLASTIK, and others in various types. From a business perspective, very doubtful that Sideshow is going to jump on that bandwagon. If they seriously had thoughts let alone plans . . . they would have already done it, but right now Sideshow's immediate priorities are with the DC license for obvious reasons while other lines along with quality continues towards a downward trend or remain static with intermittent/periodic issues.

I feel their recent in house 1:6 bodies are very worthwhile, but then again it's not like their going to produce & sell them just because YOU absolutely feel & think they should based solely on your logic & perspective.

Sideshow and other companies make products based on the almighty bottom line of $ (i.e. we're going to make $ by producing & selling this based on our plan and not the logic, whims, & wishes of some individual collector or collectors).

If you continue to feel that strongly about how some companies will supposedly listen/read and do what "you" recommend, then why not try focusing your efforts on companies that appear to have some better level of collector/customer interaction such as . . . OH . . . KAUSTIC PLASTIK to name one based on what many have read online about them?

Just don't end up being a nuisance to them and screw it up for the rest of us. ;)

Im not being a nuisance, infact i never contacted sideshow about this, i posted this primarily to see if others feel that sideshow would benifit from this happening.

Thats all im going to say abut it because im not going to put any wasted effort in debating this with anyone. This page is what it is.
delta even though you may have a dim view on this maybe because they are making better boddies to be marketable which wasnt the option a few years ago doesnt mean that they wont do it someday.

So unless your a rep for Sideshow let them speek for themselves instead of puting the thread down when it has nothing to do with you. I appreciate your point of view but it is you opinion.

I personally use every base body i can get ahold of accept for dragon,21st century toys, i dont care for alot of bbi, and early sideshow.

their was alot of figures in sideshows early career that might benifit with a body swap. this thread is for those people. this thread is for loyal sideshow collectors that just want to better their collection with updated bodies and dont want to hunt and pray to find the body on ebay. Ebay can be stressful for those who dont have patience for it.

SO even though you delta and those like you doubt it let sideshow come to that conclusion on their own.
