Of course she will. Sideshow decide the Exclusive edition size after 2-3 months based on the number of preorders. How could she not sell out?

Punisher Ex: Everyone complains about the lame ex. They put a very low edition size. BANG! Sold-out.

Wonder Woman Ex: Everyone praises her. They wait 2-3 months, look at the number of orders, pick up all the NRD. High ES. BANG! Sold-out.

If it's a disaster, they can always say it's sold out even if they don't produce the complete edition size (look at the Star Wars Mythos, with low initial sales).

So, of course the ex will sell out. But it's not because the ex is not lame. It's not because the price is right. It's not because mad people have no backbone and will order anyway. It's because Sideshow make the rules and they know very well how to play the game.

Funny this was well praised at the con the way it stood. When they offer something additional to it its bashed relentlessly. Just be glad the EX wasn't a print but judging from the reactions people still would have a beef about that.

I can only speak for myself but I'd have been perfectly fine with:

- a cheap Ex and a $360 price point or
- a great Ex and a $400 price point

Also, you have to admit that the potential for a really great EX (like an unmasked face) was there and would have been very reasonable to ask for a $400 statue.

That being said, she still looks great and I will still order her (ex or not) in a month or two...

That's not the point. Sideshow will wait to see how well she does with preorders and she will have the exact ES (high or low) she will need to sell out within about six months.

Not to make a whole debate about price but year after year collectors seem to receive less and less for their dollars.

When I saw the price for Sinestro I chuckled and thought there's no way I'd buy Sinestro over Batman when they cost the same...

Then came Catwoman and I thought there's no way I'd pay that much when look at the Wonder Woman PF costs the same

And now (predictably) I see the price of Batgirl.... I knew the EX option and price well ahead of time and I'm starting to see more "value" in the Catwoman PF priced the same.

I don't trust words

I question actions

but I never doubt patterns.

Eventually these trends will price most consumers out but since most collections near completion it will be interesting to see what their long term trend will be

It's probable. The thing is the DC line is really only touched on what could be a huge line of statues. Which is unfortunate if prices continue to rise. However, I said I'd only buy a few if they went to $400, but I find myself buying them anyway. I however passed on Conan at $450 only because I think that if the price is going to rise beyond the current standard I think it should more than a large base. I also nearly balked at the new Thor but used Rewards to adjust his price to where I thought it should be.

Hair again for the EX, did they run out of knives? Was the Waynesword a last minute scratch?

I'm not sure I see enough statue here to justify the price. I'll probably get it, but, not right away. This will need the coupon sweetener.
