I've seen some weird anime in my time and this is not the first time Batman has been given the Japanese treatment, but... wow, that was something else. It wasn't lame or stupid, it was just... different.

I think most of the negativity stems from it being SO different from what we identify Batman with. Plus some people just don't like anime

Well, I actually wasn't bothered so much by the Batman, to be honest. It was the Catwoman. It was like Hello Kitty ****ed Haruko Haruhara, from FLCL, and then became the new Catwoman.

Although, I will say, the transformation into a flock of bats, if that's even what you could call it, was kind of too freakin' weird, lol.
