Observant readers will notice that I missed my Sunday night update - I was working on another edition of the HotToyCast with Eamon and Jeff. That one isn't up quite yet, but check us out when you get a chance:

And of course, tonight I'm back to the regular schedule with a look at the Batman Black and White Jae Lee statue. You can find the review here:

Jae Lee Batman Black and White statue - Another Pop Culture Collectible Review by Michael Crawford, Captain Toy

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend (and a Happy Thanksgiving!)!

Well, to be fair, a lot of people really like this one. It's a matter of taste, not quality, which is a good thing. But yea, it doesn't really work for me.

I'm a HUGE Jae Lee fan and passed on this. I just couldn't get over the positioning of his head on this piece. It looks too awkward to me.

It's not the positioning of the head I have a problem. Maybe it's just Michael's particular piece, but there seems to be a lot of information/detail lost in the nose and mouth area... all the cut lines in the physique's definition is clean and tight. You can make it out... body is fantastic. For whatever reason, the face looks messy. Almost like the casting failed or at least this one didn't translate so nicely in production.

Guess they should have gone with a different concept art.

As Michael said, the best way to display him would be below the eye level.

There is a softness to the facial sculpt that isn't present on the body. I had to look twice to realize his mouth was open...
