I just want the headsculpt for my original PF.

I'm against recasting but if SS won't offer just the HS as an individual purchase for us, I'll have to hunt one down because they will crop up.

This would be the definition of leaving money on the table.

I would rather see a similar head sculpt, but an original work of art, than see a recast done. There are some amazing custom guys out there.

I can paint so I'm not worried about that aspect but, as I said, SS not offering the 'modern' head as a single option will just feed the underground market.

And when you're a 'for profit' company, turning your back to it is just sheer stupidity.

I don't think they have.. Those are all classics... Their Spidey, Logan, Iron Man (I know some like it)... Not so much and they are what I pictured right off the bat when I think of blah SS early pieces at least compared to DC.

I'll give you Logan, lol

SSC is sitting on a small gold mine... If they started releasing "bonus" head sculpts for some of their pieces... I don't know what a good price would be but I would pay to have a few alternate portraits for pieces I already have... I get that they can make more releasing a whole new statue... But some alt pieces would be a quick way to make a buck I think and it would be fun for the collectors.

I am sure someone can find something wrong with that idea though.

Second this idea. Would gladly pay $50-125 for a spare head sculpt, nice packaging, and "stand" for it.

100% agree with this and have wondered for a while why SS or HT doesn't do stuff like this for their popular items. I would imagine something as small as an alternate faceplate for the Keaton Hot Toy or an alternate hand holding a different gadget for the Comic PF would sell really well.

In theory they probably could make more releasing accessories than the statue. $400 for the whole statue, or $100 for a head, arm, weapon, etc.

Sideshow are simply disingenuous for doing this.

Some people genuinely scrimp and save to buy a P/F statue and to offer an alternative that may be more preferable than the first after the fact to collectors is bad form. I simply cannot understand why they can't show bother versions at the same time, then tell collectors one will be solicited in July, the other in December. Give your loyal customers the option to choose which one (or both) they want.

They may figure if they do that (announce both and their respective release dates) that they will cannibalize sales. Those who LIKE the grey and black but LOVE the blue will just pass on the grey and black and wait for the blue because they know that it's coming. By keeping buyers in the dark on whether or not variants are coming, they force the hand of those on the fence who would prefer a blue variant, but at the end of the day would really just like a Batman PF so they buy the OG version since it may be all they ever have an option of buying.

Armpit Shmarmpit!

Alimony Shalimony!

I ain't paying nothin'!

While I myself also would love this I just don't see it happening. Even if they only did it for the BEST selling statues not every collector would buy it so that in of itself is limiting their market and profit margin. The storefronts brick and mortars hobby shops comic stores etc. that are licensed retailers for their products wouldn't want to carry these because they themselves don't carry more then a few of a statue if that and then to display just heads say. I just see this as a logistics nightmare and once again the target audience is people who already have the statues and just because they do doesn't mean they will buy.
