It will be revealed that this Batman DID have a "No Kill" Policy until certain things happened (particularly the Black Zero Event).

The idea is he's now an older, battle-weary Batman with much bigger things on his mind than just fighting petty criminals. He also doesn't go out of his way to kill them, he just doesn't give much of a crap anymore.

Alfred hints at this when talking about the "New rules?". It's not just the branding. When he's talking about "the fever, the rage... that turns good men... cruel" while showing the footage of Superman's fight with Zod, he's not talking about Superman, he's talking about Bruce/Batman. He wasn't always this way.

:goodpost:

That makes perfect sense. Nicely put!

OK but, there's that word again, now that he is changed it necessarily opens the possibility that Batman will indeed kill Joker and others in this universe.

Quite possibly. Unless there is a plot mechanism (or character) that makes him go back to his no-kill policy.

For some reason I couldn't remember the name of that Russian merc, had to look it up...
KGBeast? Seriously??? What a waste of a character... Here's hope he survived the blast.

Everything Batman related in this film was great and made perfect sense.
*tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock*
Damn, forgot about the final battle stupidity again. Man... :(

Yeah, I brought that up a few pages back. Comic KGBeast had an amputated arm (which he replaced with a gun cause he's HARDCORE), so maybe he survives and appears in Suicide Squad or something.

Come to think of it, since certain other known characters have quite surprisingly been killed off, I guess it shows that this DCCU won't be averse to killing big characters like Marvel has been to date. Could be a good thing dramatically but it inevitably rubs some fans the wrong way.

I know Zack really likes that actor (Callan Mulvey) a lot. He had a pretty big role in 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE.

Who the hell is that in that deleted scene?? Who the hell is steppenwolf? What the hell are mother boxes? What's it gotta do with cyborg?

Awesome.

At one point there was a very small subplot (really just a few lines of exposition) in the script that talked about how he's changed by discussing the Bat-gadgets. Essentially, he used to go out of his way to use all "non-lethals" but in the months leading up to the events of the film he started using lethals and things that do much more damage. He and Alfred debate about it. I think it's probably the same "Turns good men cruel" scene.

Everything explaining why batman kills in this movie is there but people never pay attention. I even posted a couple of pictures back on how superman and batman have been dicks in comic book history so... Yeah. I always knew batman killed but never bothered me, everybody has a clean image of him it's not even funny

I've gotta say Batman using himself as bait against Doomsday and living to tell the tale has got to be one of the coolest things that's ever happened in a cbm (even if credit for his survival at the end goes to WW.) Watching him fight and dodge during the rest of the fight was one of the all time mismatches we've seen in a superhero film. That was great.

Saw it. Loved it. I'll appreciate it even more over time. The final fight had me choking on CGI but Affleck is the greatest Bat yet. I don't get the hate but that's the age we live in. Moving on, looking forward to Civil War and Rogue One!

Tune in next film! Same Bat-time! Same Bat-theater!

I actually saw him as more "RoboCop" than Punisher. You know "Dead or alive, you're coming with me," where his default method wasn't execution but if you resisted too strongly or pulled a gun on him, yeah, you're gone.

He even has a RoboBat voice.
