Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Yeah.

It should have been obvious before. Rubber suit with nipples, face doesn't look like Affleck, and the photo was taken outside. They haven't started shooting yet.

To cover up Raimi's hand.

Also, that image was made 10 years ago. I can see Bale now. :lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

WB doesn't have the wherewithall to pull off something that awesome. :nono

Only if he plays Horace Dent, Harvey's second cousin, who becomes known as two-chin.

Anyways, not movie related, and I'm not a gamer, but I watched a trailer for Sons of Gotham Knights or something and it had a sweet looking Batmobile/Tumbler style vehicle. Would love for Batfleck to drive something similar, don't know if I'm ready to go back to a classic style ride yet.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I was watching episodes from Vol.1 of BTAS the other night, & while not particularly liking the car way back when, it's definitely grown on me.

I'm not suggesting they try that design for live action, but it really does pop; art deco retro, meets sleek modern - great series anyway.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I don't think there is a "traditional" Batmobile, considering the hundred or so variations we've seen from the 40s through to today. But if they had any damn sense we would get this one:

DiFabio already made his ruling on this.

Doesn't carry over to 3D space all too well and the 89 car was already the inspiration for it.

Move along, these ain't the batmobiles you're looking for. :lol

In our context, we're talking looks like a specialized car vs looks like a miltary assault vehicle.

Uh.. that's a misfire Jye.

Just commenting on my opinion on the car changing - go back & read the post again. :lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

:exactly: But Kara doesn't think the West Batman is a representation of comic Batman, so he wouldn't know. :lol

I can understand that point of view, doesn't make me love the show or their batmobile any less. Hell, with all the incarnations of bats in comics over the years, sometimes comic Batman hasn't been a representation of comic Batman. :lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I am always excited to see a new interpretation of the Batmobile. Seeing someone's vision of how it would look and function. I was not a fan of the design of the Tumbler at first, but I grew to love it. I am interested to see what this crew does. Do they go form over function? Or are they going for style.

For my money, Burton's car will always be my favorite.

I don't know where you come up with that. I embrace most incarnations of Batman, even West (who I'm getting the HT version of), **** Sprang's version, Neal Adams, Super Friends, Christian Bale, etc. But the truth is the Batmobile has been all over the place over the character's history. He had a tank in Dark Knight Returns, so that wasn't totally a Nolan invention. At times, he just had a regular looking sedan, sometimes it had a huge bat head, sometimes it had a huge bubble over the top, sometimes it had fins, sometimes it had guns, sometimes the comic version was influenced by the movie versions, etc. So if you want to say "I don't want a tank" then that's fine, but there is no such thing as a "traditional" Batmobile. The tradition is to do something new and different almost each time out. And Nolan was certainly following that tradition.
