I'm confused, I saw comments that were saying "incredible likeness" or of that sort, are those people serious or are they just sycophants?

They probably have some sort of visual impairment.

My last PF was the Adam West Batman and that was incredible, far superior to that WW.

This statue has missed the mark completely. It really is just the face too. This is my preferred scale but I want it to look like gal gadot. I'm going with the new JL Prime1 version.

She looks more like Cote De Pablo, Ziva from NCIS, I'm trying to decide if that's a bad thing.

If more people did this, then SS would get their **** together. That sculpt looks nothing like Gal Gadot. I almost pulled the trigger on this, cause I liked the pose, but this is bad. I've seen the 6 inch action figures with a better likeness.

For me the Gadot likeness wasn't that important, I just wanted a good looking WW and not one that looked like a long haired dude with lipstick on.

I’m into this statue with nearly $100 in rewards points and a $40 credit from something else that went wrong. I’m hoping it doesn’t look this bad from every angle. I can’t eat all of that credit and my deposit. Ugh.

Most statues will look better in hand.

I need to see more photos but if this doesn't improve, I'll have to cancel my order. This is a shame because the rest of the statue is REALLY good. Seriously, they couldn't get a better representation than this?

If this is PVC skin (the product page doesn't appear to have an updated material list, which I've been awaiting since inquiring whether the EX shield would be plastic, like the comic PF) Sideshow at least might improve from Rey if all the exposed skin matches, whereas I've read only Rey's portrait used PVC and it didn't match the shoulders. Either way, both have a dead look for the eyes and this first WW photo (which I'm hesitant to judge) even lacks the rosy flesh tones--which PVC is especially adept at pulling off--present in the updated site photos. I'll admit to from the beginning only being sold on the likeness from the profile.

Still, I hope Sideshow steps up their game though, as their Wolf Predator bust is largely what stirred up the anti-PVC hysteria when I think other companies, such as Hot Toys and Blitzway, have proved its advantages when applied with intent other than to save money from shipping breakages.



Also, the DC Collectibles WW has pretty good likeness to Gadot. I don't think it compares to Kotobukiya's, but the sculpt work is solid if not a bit idealized proportionally. DCC's sculpts are sometimes hurt because the transition from tinted resin to hand-painted eyes (and lips for the females) can look harsh, especially if you get poorly painted eyes as I'm sure unfortunate owners have. I got lucky with the Suicide Squad line, which says a lot coming from someone who's had as horrible a QC batting average as I've had with the company this year.

I admit it looks bad there but I actually think the likeness looks quite good on their promo pics on their site, so that the reason it looks bad there could be the paint job and len's distortion .

BTW when did the portrait get reworked? I have been out of a loop for a while and was not considering getting this statue because of the poor likeness, but looks like now it has some resemblance to Gal as I can tell it's her.

A few months ago they updated the pics on the site but they are still not the production piece. I didn't mind the original sculpt TBH but the closer they try to get to gadot, the more it seems apparent that it doesn't look like her.

Well it looks more like her than the original sculpt, at least in those promo pics on their website, but like you said that isn't the production piece so it may differ. Guess I will wait for their unboxing video, however, even if the sculpt remains the same, the paint job will probably be sloppy and not realistic.

Unfortunately that's pretty much a given when discussing Sideshow pieces, where they're based on real actors and actresses.

With comic based statues, imo there's quite a bit of leeway; a leeway that is just not possible with movie pieces.

I would've loved to get a 1/4 scale piece of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, but I'll be more then satisfied with Prime 1's offerings.

The only downside is that the Training Uniform version is a year out, and the Armoured version is probably anywhere from 18-24 months away.

And to get the Ultimate version I'll probably have to order direct from Sideshow, which means quite a mark up for me.

Doesn't look like it. They're only expecting to get the standard and the bust, but not the Ultimate. Though it's possible that could change. It's just that with the low edition size, I'm not so sure I can risk it.
