I was superhyped for Black Ops, i borrowed this game from my brother in-law, three days later Black ops arrived i played for a day then continued since then on BFBC2, black ops is like a playskool toy next to a hot toys figures, only reason i'm not trading it is for zombies.

I'm buying my own copy of BFBC2 ultimate for the vip code to get the DLC.

Before this, being a cod fanboy, i didnt think such excellence was possible, the destruction is amazing the seamless switching between first person and third person in vehicles is outstanding, the guns feel big and meaty in you hands as opposed to the tiny peashooters of cod, not to mention the sound design, the squad specific gameplay like motion mines, spotting, repairing, ammom, etc...

Quite simply BFBC2 blows cod out of the water, Bad company is like a full warzone experience and COD is a glorified combat arena, you spawn on one side and clash in the middle, full of knifing idiots, campers and dudes spinning in circles trying to snipe, ridiculously boring!!!!

Cany wait for the new maps and vietnam. LONG LIVE BFBC!!!!

Going to infiltrate your thread here a little guys, sorry if it's been brought up a thousand times before but I would appreciate the insight.

I'm a COD guy, have been since I bought the first one that came out on Xbox 360. I thought MW2, shortcomings for MP aside (every game seems to have them), was/is a great game and I'm a stategic guy more so than a run and gun type. I don't necessarily stay in one spot but I'll work portions of the map to my advantage and work closely with my 3 other friends that I play with. I like the team aspect of it more so than just running around and trying to shotty and knife guys...just me personally.

That said, what could I expect if I picked this game up? I've been strongly interested in trying it and I think if maybe I gave it some good reviews I could get my friends to buy it and try it. Maybe it's not right for me, much like Halo never has been (hate MP on that game) and now that you know my style of play maybe you can help me decide if I should get it.

I prestiged 5 times on MW2 and I enjoyed seeking out the XP and gaining levels. I won't be doing that with COD BO though...the challenges to get the "pro" of a perk are exhausting and I have always cared less about getting a fancy new emblem and a new custom slot. That's why I'm currently kind of in the market for another war FPS that I can play on and offline. I'm playing Fallout Vegas right now but I would love to work in a game that reminds me of MW2 or is at least more fun and challenging than COD BO is...I'm already at 50 and pretty much only keeping it to play with my friends online.

Thanks fellow freaks!

To me this game really does trump the COD games. Mainly cause its dedicated server based. When you shoot someone or someone shots you 99.99% its legit. You do get occasional lag but not very often at all. The weapons are about the same as far as being as cool as they are in CoD. My personal fave was the .50 cal sniper. I'd find me a good spot and take down folks all day long. Now, when you do snip or shot it takes bullet arc into consideration

Well as far as weapons go i unlocked most weapons by level 20-ish, the rank goes upto 50, the attatchments work over all guns, (applicable anyway) in that specific class, so in assualt class once you unlock red dot sight you can use it on pretty much all guns, as for levelling and challenges, i am currently going for all of the insignias, i've collected all pins (Doing specific things in a round), the insignias are much harder and range from 5000 kills in assault class, to 100 vehicles destroyed using mines, to squad specific actions like reviving players. The gameplay is more solid i think to COD, meaning your character has more weight when he moves, knifing isn't as easy and no quick scoping, if your looking for strategy BC2 beath cod any day, i rely on getting ammo from my teammates, spotting enemies gets kills for my team and xp for me, bullseying targets for your squad co-ordinates you team, and all of the classes features gadgets to aid you team in victory, dont underestimate the motion mine... hope this helps

This game blows all MWs out of the water. The emphasis is on teamwork...you don't win by sitting in a corner camping but rather by assisting your squad and your team. When you win a round of rush it really feels like a true victory...all done with teamwork. You are rewarded more for assisting your squad than killing enemies.

The maps are so much more bigger and strategy plays a much more important role. There are no infantile RC cars with C4 strapped to them roaming around the map. These games feel like real battles...we were just saying that it would be amazing if you could do "theatre" mode like Black ops..it would be like watching a new war movie every game. The people that play this also seem much more mature and tend to be older players...no 8 year old kids screaming into the mic.

I think you should get it...maybe rent it to be sure, but I don't think you'll regret trying it out. Add me if you want to how it's done. :)

Honestly I don't play much COD anymore so I can't comment on anything with Black Ops but from the online I've played of the two I think Battlefield blows COD MW2 away personally.

Guys, fantastic insight! Thanks!

I'm going to take all of it into consideration and I believe I'm adding it to my Christmas list (I buy everything for myself, :lol).

I feel kind of jipped that I didn't get more out of COD BO. I was really looking forward to playing that as much as I did MW2. Maybe it was a sign to FINALLY try this game out?!?!?!

Thanks for taking the time to respond....hopefully see you on the battlefield!

I think you'll be very happy with BF2! I feel the same way about Black Ops..I hit lvl 50 2 weeks ago and I'm bored with it...I'm not doing prestige so there's not much more in it for me. All the games feel the same every time...people camp in the same spots and it get very boring fast. Where as playing "harvest" last night on BF2 was freaking epic!

Now I'm starting to get pretty psyched for it. Better stop before I overhype it in my mind. Do that with movies all the time....

Checking prices on it today.

Side note, anyone looking forward to Homefront? I watched a vid on that on Xbox Live the other day and it looks pretty interesting. The one game type (can't remember the name) that I thought was interesting was similar to Domination on COD. You have to capture 3 points on a map and then once you do the map expands for another 3 points to capture.

Think of it as landing on a beach to take a country and once you do that you then start to move into more enemy territory to take it. The thing I thought was most interesting is one of the developers said it's like playing multiple maps in one game session because the battlefield keeps expanding into new sections.

That's kinda how "RUSH" is in BF2...there are 6-10 MCOM station that you have to destroy/defend and only 2 are open at a time. So if you hold the other team back defending the rest of the map never even opens up. Very cool feature.

If CoD BO was dedicated server I'd say it would be right there with this game though.

I think it would be better but as someone who hates to run and gun, Battlefield is just a lot better with or without servers

Well, while I tend to run and run or I should say stay on the move BFBC2 is more of a strategic type shooter. Gonna take some seats tonight with the .50 cal. :rock
