My Best Buy doesn't have it and maybe won't. I want the Blu Ray set dammit!!!

I just ordered mine through Deep Discount for $151 and change (yay!, but it's backordered). I was initially going to get it at my Best Buy, but they wrapped it in one of those security tags with wires and left the boxes with deep dings/cuts. I HATE it when stores do this!

From my experience with Deep Discount, a backorder might take a week to fill but I don't mind waiting to get it at this price.

Love this show. This show really opened my eyes to a lot of SciFi programming, and it's really more drama than Sci Fi. I mean I was always a fan of Star Wars, but through BSG I found the Stargate franchises, Farscape (anyone else really looking forward to the Complete series re-release of that series coming up?), Dr. Who, etc.

I bought the Blu-Ray from Costco. I wasn't aware of the deal I could have gotten on it at Deep Discount. That sucks. Ah well, dunno how long the backorder would be anyway.

I have the standard versions as well, trying to sell those off now that I finally have it in Blu-Ray (Check the Commerce forum, hehe). I'm such a Blu-Ray/HD geek.

Sadly, this is one of the only shows I've ever watched on SciFi channel. I am watching Warehouse 13 now, so they haven't totally lost me yet.

I caught the first episode of that. It wasn't too bad, I still have the others on the Tivo, just haven't gotten around to watching them.

I watch this and Eureka too. I do watch the occasion old Twilight Zone, but that's about it for....ugh.....SyFy.

I really don't get the love for this show. It's pretty uneven as a whole, the last couple of seasons don't live up to the promise of the first couple and it fizzles out to a lackluster and boring ending, imo. :huh

So i'm getting more and more curious about this show with all the praise and stuff it's getting but i know nothing about it. What is the show like? Is it like Firefly? What kind of show's and movies would you compare it to?

Hard science-fiction with religious and political overtones throughout. Nothing is camp, everything taken seriously, especially the characters. It's drama at it's finest, with great writing and acting. Can't think of anything else to describe it, but do yourself a favor and check it out. Also keep in mind the mini-movie that starts it is very good, but the show gets way better after that.

There's a mini-movie? Is that part of the complete series set?

^^^yup. its included with the set. also, its included with season 1 if you choose to only buy individual seasons. its a great kickoff to the show as an introduction of all the characters and who is who.

I'm re-watching from the beginning on Blu-Ray, and my God I forgot how great this show was. The first two seasons are the best, but I still loved the rest of it and even at it's lowest point was better than just about any other show on TV. Just got done watching the end of the Kobol storyline and I almost choked up when Father and son reunited. Olmos is the man!

I can't wait to rewatch it when I get the blurays. I agree that seasons 1 and 2 were the best, but even though season 3 and 4 faltered a bit, the courtroom drama (end of 3/beginning of 4? I can't remember) was pretty amazing too (especially Lee's little speech). Fantastic stuff.

Thanks fellas. I might just go all out and get the complete series box-set :D I don't want to buy single seasons anymore.

New Caprica was great. Loved the Iraq war parallels and this was the point I started to LOVE Col. Tigh. You get a glimpse at why Adama is so loyal to this drunk and how equally loyal Tigh is to him. That's another thing I loved about this show: characters you love at the beginning you end up not liking as much and the same for characters you hate (Tigh, Baltar ) I ended up loving. The courtroom drama was great, and Lee's speech ended up opening my eyes to the situation Baltar was in, a no win scenario.

This show is soooooo good!
