It's been a while since I've read the book, but this movie does not remind me of what I remember about the story.

But of course, Romeo + Juliet was nothing like the book, either, so. . . wateva.

I'm very excited for this. I almost always love Luhrmann's imaginative and sometimes over-the-top take on films. Now that I've seen the trailer, I'm all the more excited - seeing Gatsby throw those huge parties like he did in the book really reminds me of how much I enjoyed the book. It's a cool story! I should try to reread it before the film comes out.

This looks pretty bad. Also I don't understand the love for Carey Mulligan. I'm pretty tired of seeing her cast as the love interest when she looks like a 12 year old. Seriously, what's her appeal?

They made our parents sign a consent form in 8th grade so we could watch Romeo and Juliet, *because there was a nipple in a scene. :lol

Too bad no one warned us what a complete POS the movie was. I can't think of a finer example of using a well known novel to simply help sell tickets. With the guy's track record, I don't see how anyone can be excited for this tbh.
