2 many Gr8 Statues!!!
And I just vented on paper, so.....why not post it here? I don't want to burden anyone in my rl with my brooding and growing bitterness.

What is MARKETABLE?!?!???
Able bodied with ability to flip burgers, brew espresso, work a cash register, hang up and fold clothes, drive a shuttle or cab, operate a broom, (only applicable if Mexican): hang out on a street corner

APPARENTLY THE ONLY THING THAT IS MARKETABLE IS: ACCEPTANCE OF LOW WAGE.

ANY EMPLOYER IS WILLING TO PROVIDE ON THE JOB TRAINING FOR ANY LOW WAGE POSITION AND NO EMPLOYER IS WILLING TO PROVIDE ANY ON THE JOB TRAINING FOR ANY POSITION THAT PAYS A LIVABLE WAGE

I have MAD COGNITIVE DISSONANCE
Aiyeeeeeeeee!!!

Welcome to the club. Good luck on your next job. And NYC is a ***** to live in with low wage/skills.

Get low paying job, wait couple of months, try to go up to manager...
Climb the ladder.

Or get a truck driver license. That pays well (or get city bus driver)

The US is turning into nothing but service jobs. People will be serving all the people coming from other countries that are getting the higher paying jobs.

There are too many people looking for work for employers to bother with on the job training these days. No such thing as internships in a lot of industries now.

I suggest looking for something in the tech or medical field if anything while those last.

I looked at city bus driver, pay ****. However I looked at usher in Grand Central Terminal giving people directions, Pay is good! Start out at $19/hr in 5 years $32/hr. I'm willing to curb my pride, in all the education and skill I have to give people directions for a living. I even looked up salary for NYC sanitation workers; pay not so good.

I was in school for occupational therapy but got turned down by every school I applied to. Then I was in school for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. I went to Mercy College. It's a fake school and I got so fed up I left.

Yes, very very easy to get a low paying service job in this economy. On my Monday I might just walk down the street to this local coffee shop and get a job as a barista for $11/hr.

Can someone rise up and start a revolution among the proletariat?

There's intern alright but they're low rate or even free.

You sure? A guy Mr. Green meet said his military service messed up his head. He can't do physic and calculus type of study anymore. He is a big muscular dude, working as a temp and as a machine operator. He is still in the service too. Sure, not everyone is the same but military propaganda is just as strong now as before.

Why mess urhead?

Don't know, only of what he said. But life is weird. Mr. Green used to work next to biologist/chemist/mathematician who work as a temp to jump-start their career or at least until they can find better work. There are service men/women who need to supplement their work. Bottom of the barrel, like people who steal cleaning alcohol, drugs, etc, as well.

Right, but they learn on the job and most of the time get to go right into a full time job. I was actually thinking more of mentoring on the job rather than interning. And not all interns work for low wages. Doctors for one.

Well, I would start by holding your head up. It's terrible how much school costs these days. It's even worse of how rich the 1% are getting. Yet there are obvious avenues to take where you can get paid decently. As stated, medical, technological, or financial areas pay decent (not bank telling).

Btw, Bernie wouldn't do **** for anyone. None of the politicians will. ;)

Intern varied. Mr. Green used to do consulting work at Times Square for little over 2 months. On the elevator, a blond woman said she interned for about 3 years. So it took her a long time to get a full time position. Yes, there is not much on the job training, mentoring, or hand holding. About 3 years ago, Mr. Green's manager think he can con Mr. Green into working Sunday and more over time. At a certain time, Mr. Green got to know when to stop and not let people take advantage. Love oneself more.
