I don't understand the manga industry. Shouldnt he be fired for so many hiatuses? And it's not just him doing it, the hunter x hunter guy does it to. Some shounen manga people only take a week off this man takes years off. It's ridiculous. You can't do that with books or movies. Idk

Not going to enter on a discussion about personal preferences . As much as I love Berserk, my pick would always be GoT because it's a much more ambitious story with a wider scope of themes and characters.

Having said that, the paralellism is quite close. I started reading both during college (boy, I'm getting old...). Both authors seem to be suffering from writer fatigue, with each volume in their series taking longer and longer to write. Also and probably as a side effect of that, the quality of the later volumes is nowhere close to the ones from 10-15 years ago. At least Miura have a higher chance of finishing Berserk due to his age...

GoT definitely has a lot more to it's story than Berserk, but I don't really bother to compare them. I enjoy both immensely. I got into Berserk when I was 13 (I'm just about 29 now) and played the Dreamcast game Sword of the Berserk. I was so confused because it felt like there must've been a game that took place before then with Guts mentioning Griffith and the Skull Knight showing up at the end. Later I found out there was an anime called Berserk and once I saw Guts again, I knew I'd be hooked. I kept up with the manga for years until they got to the boat. I haven't read any of it since, but I can't believe after all this time, I haven't missed that much. I don't know if I should play catchup or if I should wait a few more years.

I saw 4 left for pre-order on eBay from one seller and they were all gone the next day. Now there's none. I'm sure there will be plenty more available once he's actually in stock and shipping out.

Worth catching up with the manga for this scene alone.

Berserk has enough content to its story to reach past 50 volumes at least. We'll all have grey hair and no teeth by then.

I just saw the first episode of the new anime the other day. It was pretty good, but a somewhat different tone than I was used to with the previous anime releases, meaning there was a bit of silliness with one character in particular. I liked the first episode overall. I'm glad they are finally doing a series where Guts is the Black Swordsman version. I've been waiting to see something other than just the beginning or end of an anime with him like that. I haven't read any of the manga. So everything in the series will be a surprise for me.

Man, hopefully Threezero Guts isn't sold out indefinitely. I kind of wanted to see a review of the figure to see if the 'rubber' arms were a bust or not before deciding on getting it :/
