Just saw Atonement last night and it has surpassed No Country for Old Men as my favorite '07 film. I do want to check out Lust, Caution but it sounds more like a period-piece porno than a dramatic film. Kinda why I want to see it :monkey3

Lust,Caution, while having a lot of nudity, wasn't exactly a porno. I think I would have liked it more had it been.:lol

There's too many to name:rock:rock:rock:chew:D

But here are a few i can remember right now...

Grindhouse (Both kick'd ass)
Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix
The Bourne Ultimatum
Transformers
No Country For Old Men
Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End
Live Free Or Die Hard
Sweeney Todd
Ratatouille
The Simpsons Movie

And so on....

I havnt seen There Will Be Blood yet but i have no doubt it would make the list (if it counts). Is it a 07 or 08 movie?

Add The Kingdom and Hot Fuzz to the list:D

Weird, I am in Canada and I could have sworn I saw it in September or October of '06. And I saw it late. Guess the US date was released at a later time. *shrugs*

Or maybe it wasn't the second movie I saw with the ex...

I started dating her in the beginning of August of '06.

Best film I saw was KITERUNNER. Lots of westerners should see it to have their eyes opened about the diversity of the Muslim world.

I am interested in checking out Kite Runner and seeing how it compares to Stranger Than Fiction, Monster's Ball, and Finding Neverland. And his next film is Bond 22--this guy is all over the map.

Didn't Marc Forster also do Stay? I actually forgot that he directed Stranger Than Fiction.

I can never choose just one, so here are my favorites:
Apocalypto (though this may have actually been a late 2006 movie)
3:10 To Yuma
American Gangster
Eastern Promises
Hot Fuzz
Knocked Up

Did anyone watch Zodiac, i thought that was a really good movie and the picture quality was really impressive.

I picked up the HD DVD and it was a very sharp looking movie. I can see why some people might not like it, but I really appreciated it for what it was. I was OK with the pace of the film and the resolution of the plot. As far as the performances and technical quality and craftsmanship, I am kind of surprised that it didn't pick up a few Oscar nominations. Maybe it was just released too early in the year.

For me, this year was a little disappointing. Besides Ratatouille, there really wasn't a film that I came out of and immediately wanted to see again.

I agree with most of the lists here, although I'm surprised no one mentioned Into The Wild.

Thought it was a good representation of the book, and Eddie Vedder provided an awesome soundtrack.
